Three hours later, Trixi awoke. She wasn't a particularly heavy sleeper, but then again, it had been an awfully loud sound that had woken her. She slid out of her bunk without a sound, and stealthily crept across the small room she had called home for the past three weeks. Trixi stood at the door and listened, hearing nothing but a faint whispering. She rightly assumed that whoever had woken her up was at the end of the passageway. Trixi realised that the voices were slowly getting closer, and she could just make out what they were saying. "The Chosen One must die, The Chosen One must die," was being repeated over and over. As they were getting closer and closer to her door, and she had the only room on this level, Trixi had two options. Fight, or run. As she had no idea how many of them there were, she opted for the second option. She had no problem with being out-numbered, but when she wasn't expecting it that was just plain rude. Trixi landed, cat-like on all fours, and waited a moment to make sure she had not been seen. When she was satisfied that this was the case, she scampered to the nearest tree, a small tree, similar in appearance to an Oak tree, and shimmied up. There she sat, and waited. She looked up to her room, and saw that the light had been turned on. Whoever was looking for her was obviously checking her room first. This gave her some time to assess her situation. She somehow needed to let Pete and K know what had happened, and to get them out of there. She had left her room in a hurry, not even stopping to pick up any personal effects, including her communicator. Confident that she was still safe to do so, Trixi dropped from her perch, picked up the nearest rock, and launched it straight through Pete's window. Pete looked out immeadiately, and Trixi motioned for him to join her outside. Moments later, Pete and K had both joined Trixi outside. Trixi's would-be assailants were still in her room. As she explained the situation to her companions, Trixi was formualting a plan. "We need to head for the docks, there must be a ship we can get out of here on." Both her friends agreed, and within minutes, they had reached their destination. The first ship they found was a small, short-range craft, definatley no use to them. A little further in, and they found what looked to be a much larger craft. "This'll hold together," said K. "and she'll definately fly." The decision made, they boarded the craft, all three running straight up to the bridge. "K, you're going to have to hot-wire her for me." Said Pete as he eased himself into the Pilot's chair. "Get down to the engine room." K did so, and within moments they were in the air, and would shortly be leaving atmosphere. Copyright 2007 Dan Greathead {moscomment} |
