"Fear is an unpleasant feeling of perceived risk or danger, real or not. Fear also can be described as a feeling of extreme dislike to some conditions/objects, such as: fear of darkness, fear of ghosts, etc. It is one of the basic emotions," Holly says to her class standing in the front with her essay in her hand. She continues to talk about how fear can educate the imagination and let the brain learn what’s real and what’s not. Before she can finish, someone pretends to be snoring in the back. Mrs. Anderson, the teacher, sits up and stops Holly with her hand.

"Is there something you would like to add to her presentation John," Mrs. Anderson asks fixing her glasses focusing on him. John sits up smiling and looks at his two buddies, Hillary and Chris. He looks back at Mrs. Anderson and then looks at Holly who really wants to sit down.

"Well Mrs. Anderson, what does anyone really know about fear? Fear is just the brain giving the soul scary, but so real illusions that make the body feel insecure," he says sitting up with his pen in his hand smiling. "So again, she is just reading the dictionary definition," he finishes.

"Fear is yourself creating the illusions with your intellectual mind making yourself think you have not thought of the illusion and that it is actually real and happening," Holly says walking to her sit with her paper. "Saying again, fear builds your imagination," she finishes.

"Well Mr. Simmons," she says. "You have a good point and she has a better point. You have anything else?" John stares at Holly and looks back at Mrs. Anderson.

"No I do not have anything further to add; because it is just pointless," he says to Mrs. Anderson.

"Well class, the two smartest students in my class. One is immature and the other is shy," she says looking at Holly.

When the last bell of the day rang, Holly ran out to be free from all the idiots that go to her school.

She walks in the door and slams the door shut. She sees no one home and walks to the living room and turns on the television. She turns on her laptop to check her Myspace. She can hear the woman reporter talking.

"The fundraiser that the kids were hosting was a success as Timmy Hein says. We are so happy for what the kids have done."

"Yeah, who cares," she says waiting for her laptop to get a wireless connection to the internet.

"If you are just turning in, a man by the name of Edward Cunningham was recently released from a mental institute and is considered missing at this moment." Holly reaches for the remote to turn it off because she doesn’t care. "Edward was last known be on bull-," the reporter tries to finish as Holly turns her off to a black screen.

"No one cares," she says to herself. An instant messenger pops on her computer. It’s her good friend Melissa. She opens her message.

"Hey, are you coming tonight?" Holly reads what Melissa typed. Holly puts her fingers on the keys. She starts to type.

"You’re going to that? You’re not going to study for finals?" Holly types back replying to Melissa’s message.

"Come on Holly, it’s our senior year. You need to live a little. It’s going to be fun Holly and I don’t want to go alone," Melissa says. Holly looks at her books on the table in the kitchen. She thinks of all the good grades she has had this year and then smiles knowing she does need to get out and live a little. She replies, "Ok, I’ll be at your house at seven."

Holly decides to drive Melissa to the party. They turn on the road Rosenthal and then Holly realizes that she doesn’t know what street to turn to.

"Melissa, what street is it?" She asks Holly turning down the radio.

"Bull-Hide Creek," she replies. Holly tries to remember where she heard that.

"What’s wrong?"

"I heard that today but I can’t remember where," she says.

She turns on the street and makes her way down. The road makes them twist and turn and then after a while they hit gravel road. They make their way down and they see the forest of trees closing in on them. They look at each other telling each other that they are a little scared. Then they laugh a little and continue on the dark, gravel road. "Finally," Melissa says seeing cars parked off to the side of the gravel road.

"I don’t see any house," Holly says slowing down stopping behind a truck. Melissa ignores what Holly has jus said and opens the door and she hears music and people. Holly turns off the vehicle and opens her door and hears the same noise as Melissa and she realizes that they have to walk in the forest to find the house. Holly starts to walk across the gravel road to go through the forest to see the house. She stops and looks down the darkened street and then walks to Melissa’s voice wanting her to hurry. They walk into the deserted house to hear music and laughter and chit chat with gossip. Holly sees the alcohol the most guys and some girls are consuming. She turns to look in a room to find couples in the room smoking drugs. She figures in her mind it must be pot. She continues in the house to see John with his friends Hillary and Chris. Melissa comes behind her and yells in her hear since the music was so loud.

"Are you having fun?" Melissa screams looking for the single guys.

"What?" She says back.

"Sweet I know!" She says back seeing a guy sitting on the couch alone with an alcoholic beverage in his hand.

"What are you talking about?" She says back.

"Oh yeah, way to go girl!" She says walking off to the guy. Holly sees her sitting with him and sees the teenage boy offering her a drink and then watching her laugh and grab the bottle. She turns away in disgust. She walks in what use to be a kitchen before it was deserted and sees John. She tries to walk the other way but he stops her.

"Hey Holly, I want to apologize for today in English. I was having a pretty crappy day and I guess I took it out on your paper. It was a good well written paper if you wanted to know," he says turning her around so she would face him. She looks at him and then looks down and then he looks down and they realize that they are holding each others hands. They, without hesitation, pull away and step back from each other.

"Thanks I guess," she says back.

"Yeah, so that is all I wanted to say and I hope we have a truce," he says.

"Sure. It’s cool John," she says walking off to find Melissa so she can leave. She walks to the room where she last saw her and she isn’t there. She wonders if she is acting Christian or not.

"Are you wearing protection?" Melissa asks her crush, Nate.

"Come on babe, were both in the mood," he says sitting on the bed with her. He leans in for a kiss and then the kiss leads to more.

"So you’re not wearing protection Nate?"

"Why?"

"Just want to be a good Christian about this," she says smiling. She starts to laugh and then Nate joins her while he pulls his belt off of his pants.

Holly walks to John again after a while. She sees the party dying down. "John, have you seen Melissa," she asks.

"She’s here?"

"Yes, I brought her with me," she says a little upset.

"Well I haven’t seen her," he finishes.

"Are you ready baby?" Nate asks Melissa. Melissa turns to the closet right beside her and doesn’t answer his question.

"There’s someone in the closet," she claims.

"What?" He says not really caring.

"I hear breathing. Some pervert is watching us Nate," she says covering herself. Nate walks over to the closet.

"I don’t hear anything baby," he says back.

"I bet it’s one of your friends-"

"Why would you say-?"

"Do you even know my name?" She asks covering herself more.

"Alright fine, let me show you," he says opening the door to find and see Edward covering his face with a black garbage bag. As Melissa screams getting out of the bed to run for her life, Edward pulls his head back to have his neck stretching out. He takes his fist that isn’t holding Nate’s and slams his fist into his neck. He throws him down to let him puke up his blood and cry in his tears. Melissa tries to open the door but realizes that Nate locked it so they wouldn’t be disturbed. Before she could unlock it, Edward takes his bag that he used on Nate and wraps it around her face. She struggles and tries to scream. He slams her face against a wooden wall. She keeps up with the struggle as Nate is dying drowning in his blood trying and wanting to breathe. Edward takes her neck and twists it for her death to come.

The music is turned off as the party is coming to an end. Holly is still looking for Melissa. She makes her way upstairs when she hears a loud impact to the floor in one of the rooms. She walks towards the door where she heard the noise. She twists the doorknob to find out it is locked. "Melissa, are you in there?" She asks knocking on the door. She hears what sounds like someone puking. Then what the next sound she hears is a hard sound to a bone of some kind as she can hear the bone break. She looks down and sees the doorknob turning. She runs downstairs and sees no one in the house. She stops breathing hard with fear, and hears footsteps coming down the stairs. She takes off running and runs into John.

"What’s your rush?" He says laughing.

"I think someone is hurt and I can’t find Melissa and I don’t really know," she says pulling her hair back asking herself if she is going crazy.

"Wow, your paper must be really getting to you," he says with a smile.

"John, can you please go upstairs with me so I can see if Melissa is up there maybe playing a trick on me?"

"Sure, I guess it’s the least I could do. What’s the worst thing that could happen?" He asks in a sarcastic way. They walk upstairs and see the door cracked open. John goes first and opens the creaking door. Holly walks in to find Nate Palmer dead with a wooden board with blood on it right beside him. She sees his disfigured face, but can’t tell the detail of the work with the blood covering face. As tears come down her cheeks, she turns to find Melissa’s dead corpse rotting slowly to bone. She sees her eyes staring at her, but she sees no soul in the body. She saw from her skin being pale that she had been just recently killed. She knows person who committed these acts was still in the house. She turns to John.

"What?" He asks not knowing Edward is right behind him. The black bag flies into John’s face. He ducks from the bag and pushes Edward out of the room into the hallway wall. "Run Holly! Go get help!" He says holding him up against the wall. She runs out and runs down stairs. Edward grabs John by the throat him against the wall but actually throwing him through the weak wooden wall. John falls into another room and dust’s himself off and looks up to see Edward picking him up. Edward sees the open window. He drags him to the window.

"Please don’t kill me," John begs as Edward places his head out the window with his neck facing the window. Edward smiles and slams the window up and down on John’s throat until he sees blood on the window. Edward sees John barely alive and tosses him out the window. John lands on the back of his broken neck and top of his spine. His spine breaks going through his broken neck. He dies instantly. Holly stands there at the front door staring at his horrific body. She screams and runs to the gravel road. She looks back and sees the window with the blood on it. She looks down at the front door and sees Edward staring at her.

She turns and runs faster to her car. The vehicle turns on to the key and she speeds out of the gravel road. She hits something and the front tire goes flying. She hits the breaks and her car comes to a stop. She tells herself that this has to be a dream and that this can not be happening. She gets out of her car to see Hillary dead in the road. "Did I decide her death?" She asks herself staring at Hillary’s body. She sees her face hacked up like someone hit her like a piñata with an axe. She turns around to find her car is broke down. She looks down the street where she faced what felt like Lucifer himself coming out of the depths of Hell. She takes off running to live a full life.

Holly makes it to end of the street and sees no car’s coming from any direction.

"Fear," she hears someone whisper from behind her breathing down her neck. She turns around to see three people in white trying to control her. She continues to scream out, "Lucifer! Lucifer!"

A few days go by and she receives the knowledge that a trucker found her on the ground at the end of a street. She was brought to the Hospital for treatment and to receive emotional help.

"Did you find him?" She asks Dr. Mike.

"I’m sorry Holly. They haven’t found him yet. Did he kill your friends?"

"Yes. I saw him do it," she claims.

Two days later, Holly was released from the building to return home to see her parents. They show her love and peace.

That night she comes home from church.

"Mom, I’m going to bed," she says thinking her mom was going to ask but all Holly was got was silence. Holly walks in her room to find a note on her bed. She walks over; trips over her guitar strap strapped to her guitar, and reaches for the note on the bed. "I see you and you see death," the note says. She runs to her parent’s bedroom with the door shut, but the television light is shining through the bottom. She opens the door and sees all over the covers, but no bodies. She hears silence and feels cold. She turns around to see Edward staring at her. He takes his mallet and beats her face into the back of her skull. Her dad’s dead corpse can see the whole thing as it lies in the computer chair right by the bed with his chest ripped open. Her mom’s head in the toilet full of toilet water and blood. When the face of who use to be Holly, a shy sweet girl, is in the back of her bleeding skull, Edward walks into her room. He comes back with her guitar and sits on the bed. He starts to sing a song and play the guitar telling her she was beautiful and will be remembered in his dreams. He shuts the bedroom door with the dead family inside.

"I’ve been a bad boy mommy," he says to himself.
