Lovely filigrees

Danced on her face, as sunlight

Peeped through the branches.

[Author's note: According to the Cambridge International Dictionary of English, filigree is a decorative open pattern. The image above is an example of a filigree on stone, probably marble.]

What is a filigree?

Seems to me like this hauiku is talking about two difefrent things happening simultaneously..

the filigree swinging on the girls face and sunlight peeping through the branch

Her Face -- A Hakiu

I do not have a clue on what a filigree is but nonetheless you were able to paint a picture in my head.

I saw a girl with long brown hair on a swing set by an apple tree, and a glare of light from the sun is shiny through the leaves and branches of the apple tree and onto her face.

Cheers,

Max

Art sometimes can be deceptive in that it appears simple and artless and yet therein lies the real art. Good poem, good haiku.

Good job with this. Simple and direct, but very subtle. I liked this very much.

For such a short verse (as all haikus are) it was well described and easy to picture. =]

I pictured my girlfriends face when I read this. If a haiku paints a mental picture, this one succeeded perfectly

I'm no expert on haikus, but the fact that the entire poem consists of one sentence makes me wonder if it fits the qualifications for a haiku.

Great imagery, though

When I saw this on you're list of stories, I thought: A Haiku? Should be easy enough.

But with ease and only a few words you achieved the power of an epic.

I have no idea what a filigree is. Oh, here it is.

noun- delicate and intricate ornamentation

That makes sense. I should add this to my vocabulary.

Great haiku.

Best of luck.

I'm very thankful that you wrote the definition for that word. I was just about to reach for my dictionary when your definition caught my eye. Anyway, this was good.

Touching

It is easy to close your eyes and imagine the pattern on the womans cheek. Feel the warmth of the sunlight as it decorates her. I liked this one a lot.
