Shattered Window

The image of the shattered stained glass is still...

Elijah

The distant door closed shut behind him with a click....

She stood on top the Della Bridge; her eyes fixed to the ground

A girl of only sixteen years a heartache she had found

The boy she loved had found a new and gave his heart to thee

And no one else in her young world could take the place of he

Leaning out and holding on; a fingertip from death

Her eyes shut tight with thoughts of him is whence she heard a breath

A boy who looked of sixteen years a cry fell from his voice

This world's unfair filled with despair; but this is not the choice

Your broken heart will mend in time; a promise thou will pledge

A gift of life is given you on this side of the ledge

A song of hope is singing out it beckons unto thee

Some day a new a boy more true; who sings for only ye

With those words a life he saved; when asked upon his name

He gave it Johnny Faraday of Windsor Manor lane

Four months had past she summoned thee a heart healed from its torn

To thank the prince who saved her life; twas on that summer's morn

For when she sees him on his head; she'd place his so called crown

But when she knocked and asked for Johnny smiles turned to frowns

They told her of his death hence past a note left on the fridge

With broken heart five years ago... he jumped from Della Bridge

another good poem. i really like how your poems flow. they never are sloppy. and you can tell a story well in a poem, which is cool.

Yes, I agree with Cody, you can sure as hell tell a story within a Poem. That takes talent, and talent is what you have. I thought this was written really well and I liked the rhymes, it had a pretty good flow, too.

Cheers,

Max

Yes

Can't agree more with the above, so I won't even try.

Must say that the whole thing was so easy to read, and that's something you can't say for a lot of stuff on here.

So then Mr Potter sir, which is it to be? Author or poet?

I remember this one from before. It is good that the story is so clear in the poetic scheme. I get the feeling that this happened a long time ago, but then there are things that state modern times. Like the fridge..and the pic itself. So which is it Sir Potter?

Don't commit yourself!

If you can do both and please people this much, then do both.

I like story poems. I like ghost stories. I liked this.

You have not had a comment yet from the anti-country music brigade...........

Kind regards

That was pretty slick there R.E. It made me think for a second and a tear formed around my eye. How dare you.

But seriously this was a haunting tale told in poetry. I liked it. Kudos.

The poet manges the couplet form quite well, bring the storyline out clear and fine. Good poem; enjoyable,

Well, this was a fine poem. I found the style of poetry quite different..even the language seemed to me to be of quite a different nature.

Good poem, all in all.

Very good.

I fought through the old English but it was worth while.

This had a good flow and a great ending.

Good job.
