Sure I like broads, said Hank,
Especially the cute
Ones with soft dimpled cheeks;
The cool sleek ones like cats

That purr in your ears and
Claw at your groin; I like
The plump dames, with puffy
Pillow-like breasts where you

Can lay your head on those
Cold lonely winter nights;
Or the slim broads with tongues
Like razors, hips like small

Handles, who keep you on
Your toes and in their beds;
And the clever dames who
Use their heads listening

To Brahms, while I lay in
Their arms, looking into
Their bright blue eyes, seeing
Death waiting for me out

There on the rim, just me
And dark deadly old him.

Yep, glad you're back, man!

This was pretty cool and had a touchy subject.

Good Poem, I thought it was written pretty well, too.

Great job, Terry

hank

I love your verse and sentence breaking style, and your metre.

Wish I could do it. I am stuck with ballads.

I thought I was going to bed with a smile on my face until I reached the last three lines.

Haven't worked them out yet, but a night of insomnia will crack it, so do not try to post any explanations.I must do this myself. It might apply to me personally!

But help me with Bukowski please.

I am bereft of reference books here. I own a copy of Ulysses, James Joyce. The Essays of Samuel Butler, and Brewer's Dictionary of Phrase and Fable, none of which mentioned him.

Kind regards

Harmattan.

love thefeel of it, hanks obviously an old hand in the game of love. liked the pace and the way it broke, trying to fathom the last verse, perhaps its open to personal interpretation. whenever i try poetry it ends up as a limerick

Hank

Got it!

Just wanted to be absolutely sure.

And that is not a sideways swipe at obscurisms.

It is a comment on the present speed of my brain!

This poem goes into my goody=bag.

Kind regards

Harmattan

Yeah, it's very Terry Collett-y. I liked it a lot. The subject matter, I must say, was very interesting indeed. Loved it.

Broads!

Hmm. So, you have described the cute, plump, slim and clever broads. God! What about the other chicks, who were immersed in music. Death would sound musical, eh!
