The sun beat down hard on Sector Q 12. The city was dry, hot, barren, full of windswept avenues and deserted buildings. The air was blurred by heat, the temperature visible. There was no growth, no plant life, nothing, no trees, only rugud, dry, earth. In a long narrow street, a organized line of small boys, dressed in tattered rags and straps sewn together, stood. Six men dressed in bullet proof vests, wearing black horrid gas masks, with a triangular symbol emblazoned on their chests, stood, scanning the line of children. They held tightly, proudly, to their submachine guns. They were called "Glazers". They were brute, organized, and bent on enforcing, by any means necassary, the governments control. Their jobs might seem easy enough, since there were only a few million people left on Earth. Yet, the resources numbered less, barely able to supply half the world. In the year 2016, Korea dropped a nuclear bomb in Washington, in 2017, America declared war on Korea. In the Year 2025, the war had not ended, and a nuclear attack began, from both sides. The world was in devastation, the land would not bare crops, people were dying by the millions every week, and then, everything crumbled, the government, the economy, religion. What was left of the American, Korean, and Chinese government took control, to keep order. The government became an absolute power, the leaders became greedy and corrupt, and the world was ruled by an iron fist, by a united government, un-united people. A rebellion took place between a small group of political campaignists who saw the government as wrong, and saw the peoples suffering. The government had kept a close eye on the people, food and water being the most closely monitored. Food was at an all-time low, as well as water, and a filling meal was a delicacy. The government was cruel, people who disobeyed the laws or stole food were stabbed, shot, beaten, or hung in the streets. The Glazer's were their enforcers, and they took pride in their jobs. The pride they now showed, puffing up their chests, as they scoped the line of boys. One of the Glazer's grunted, and pointed his gun at a small, blond haired boy. The boy's faced filled with horror, and he looked down at his shoulder to see what had given him away. on his sleeve was a cluster of bread crumbs, and a dried drop of yolk. "Tell me boy...what is it that you did wrong?" The Glazer said cooly. "I-I don't..."The boy stuttered. "You stole food! Bread!Eggs! You selfish boy!" "For my s-sister,sir, she needs food, or she'll die, she is so young, sir..." "That is not my problem..."The Glazer said,"and do you know what the penalty for stealing food is, boy?" "N-no sir..." CH-CH-CH-CH-CH-CH!The glazer fired his gun, sending bullets into the boys chest, who fell, dead, to the dusty ground. a terrified scream sounded from within the crowd. A woman, hiding among the crowd of boys. A moment later, a glazer without a helmet brought a young girl up. His face was roughly shaven, and his nose was wider than his mouth. "You knew that boy?"The Glazer with the mask asked> "He was my brother sir" "ahhh,so you must be his sister..." The bare faced glazer looked down at her with lusting eyes, and some of the other glazer's howled and barked rudely at her. "How old are you, girl..." "Eight...sir." "Not young enough to bear seed then..." he laughed coldly after he said that. "My men crave the warmth of a lady, do show them a good time," he said. The man who had brought her unbuckled his pants, and brought them to his knees. He tore the shirt off the girl, and turned her and bent her over. She cried and screamed, begging for him not to. "Come on, now girly, shhh, i don't like screamers..." The boys watched in horror, the girl tried to escape, but was only slapped or punched. The man's grunts tore through the crowd of children. The girl's screams were even worse. Copyright 2008 jake |
