Come here little flies...

The spider spins his web of lies,
Strand by strand, thread by thread,
Waiting for his delicate prize,
Through trees his black boots tread...

Look into my eyes...

His only web is in the park,
A place which he adores,
Scuttling around in the dark,
Forever he explores...

Of fear, terror, cries...

He'll find a fresh feast, satisfy
His old sexual taste,
Upon a poor, innocent fly:
That girl he will disgrace...

Perhaps I'll rape a little fly

And watch her as she dies...

Whoa ...

that was

well

BLOODY BRILLIANT, MAN!

So clever how characterize a rapist as a spider. I've really never thought of it like that. This was written so well! I just loved this Poem.

Superb work, my friend!

loved it, a very commendable peice of work. I enjoyed the imagery very creepy and as thirteen says you could imagine hopkins reading it. perhaps one day our spider will encounter a wasp and the tables will be turned

Pope had written "Rape of the Lock" (you should read that poem for its ironic humor) and here a spider is intent on raping and killing a fly. What a sadist! This is actually inhuman. Is the human rights commission taking note of it. Oh! me God!

Great stuff! this was unique. I liked how you added the spiders thoughts, which i read in a sing-song way because it just felt creepier that way. Wonderful job. =]

i liked this poem, i know some rape victims, it is a terrible thing, like a spider had sucked out there insides. the tragedy is worse than the bruises, its hard to trust anyone after that.

Wow

I don't know what I was expecting from a poem called "Spider", but defiantly not this. It was amazing nonetheless, and a very powerful yet non-vulgar treatment of the subject matter. I really liked it.

Top Notch. Very good poetry. Very clear and incisive. Gr8 imagery and a very different perspective. Its good to see some different poetry which actually makes sense.
