Every day people talk about how nobody has any common sense or how they are tired of the world around them, but nobody is talking about how they can change the world into the place they want it to be. If common sense has died then how is it that we have the common sense to do the most basic of things?

All over the world people are wanting and needing a better place to live to think to learn and what they get is distress, pain and suffering. There are a few people who are actually doing something about it, and there are the people who donate their money to the organizations not knowing where it is going or who it is going to help.

By now most of the readers are thinking why do we care what this one person cares, my point exactly why should you care what one person thinks, then just add another person to that and another person by the end of it all you should just about stop caring about everything so just give up and die you are taking up valuable space.

Now the people who are thinking well now he has a point perhaps we should listen to this person, sure listening and doing are two different things, you should do what you can to help those who need help but don’t out stretch yourself.

This isn’t one of the “hey! lend a helping hand” things not at all, just do what is right speak the truth and help someone just for the fact they need the help not for a reward or any other prize.

Treat people how you would like to be treated eventually when it is your turn to be helped someone will eventually help you.

Just think someone out there has it worse off than you.

Are you saying you need help Jessie? just kidding.

I like what you're saying. People need to stop thinking 'oh, someone else will help them' and JUST DO IT THEMSELVES. kudos to you for saying it out loud... well, typing it out loud. =]

Helping Hands

There are people out there trying to help, but the ones who do the most good are those (like our local Methodist and Baptists Chapels) who work away quietly in the background.

We don't all have Geldoff's money or profile, and I just selfishly wonder how much of his own money he gives to worthy causes.

We (the Neale family)choose to contribute in a concrete way through our local chapels (none of us are religious and have no axe to grind there). In the recent past we've bought a donkey and contributed towards the sinking of a fresh water well (both in Africa).

I have no religious illusions about afterlife and the possibility of benefits accruing.

It is also a very sad fact that we (those of my age - 55) were all highly charged up about the unfairness of the distribution of wealth when we young and skint.

The trouble starts when we're older, 'wiser', wealthier and more self-centered. Hiding behind the mantra 'Charity Begins At Home' is merely a way of justifying our meanness.

Do you practice what you preach Jessie?

Your advice is well recieved but depends only of the mood one has that day.

Some can only wonder how money through charities is distributed. Perhaps a share goes to line the pockets of the greedy slime that walk this earth unscathed or mared. while those truly in need continue suffering.

Where does all the money go? In the case of Katrina in New Orlean, we know where it went. Alot of people became a bit richer from the catastophy. But for most people with little time, all we can do is give and hope it goes down the right path.

So, good points to ponder Jessie.

...LOL...

If your wondering, no I don’t really practice what I preach that often sure I help whoever I can, but living in California has me making it by a few bucks each day, sure a few weeks back I was driving around and a bum was laying down, so I thought he was asleep but then again it was like 120 degrees outside so I stopped and gave the guy like 5 bottles of water and drove off. Do I know if he used them not at all, I did what I though was right and I moved on?

Do I agree with myself all of the time no way.

Good luck to you all.

We have Peace Corps here. I always say

"What did you do to upset your parents so much that they sent you here?!

30 or 40 years ago communities and groups were far more active in similar thoughts, Created Greenpeace etc.

But now, as one of my reviewers remarked, people seem to think much more of themselves and their own welfare.

Blame king Reagan and president Thatcher.
