Daddy what is?

Daddy what is the sun?

A solar ball where heat is from.

The life giver to which songs are sung.

A golden ball that does so rise.

And the symbol of hope in every ones eyes.

Daddy what is the moon?

A midnight twinkle that shows the way.

The nighttime glow that keeps you safe.

The security that lets you know.

That the darkness will never hold.

Daddy what is the earth?

It is the place of your natural birth.

The home that was given to you first.

It is the member we now reside.

And the place we will survive.

Daddy what is the red star I see?

It is a planet not so far.

The red glow they call mars.

The red hot place that holds no fear.

And the place that few have neared.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh

The kind of poem/story I used to tell my children at bedtime.

Good to see the tradition has not been lost.

Very good.

Wow!

Amatayo, this is an absolutely beautiful verse.

Whew!

I love it.

Very well written...

Aphoristically Poetic yet the magnanimity yer’ve managed to capture here within yer narrative lacks not.

Oh and yer imagery was fantastic!

Wow…

Truly gorgeous verse that left me head feeling wonderful and Poetically dreamy.

Aye,

Keep well,

‘Anna

What a cute poem. Especially poignant for those of us with small children. But truly, if you had said those words, they would have come up with 500 more questions! Trust me on that one. Well done. Flowed very nicely

This was really cute. A poet's way of answering all those little questions that get asked to us parents on a daily basis. Good job. Next you have to tackle the one word question that usually follows each of our answers .. 'why?' =]

Best Yet

This was beautiful. By far my favorite poem from you. Its a nice change from the sad and dark poems you usually put out. I don't know which Amatayo I like better. =) But this was really great. Keep up the good work.

Its good. I like how its true to how kids ask their fathers questions. Every little kid wants to know everything and they usually go to their dads to find out the answer.
