Pulled Apart

The sands of time build up in my eye

Sometimes I still just sit down and cry

This hurricane of loss

Always engulfs my every peaceful thought

Earth I believe, is a horrible place

The evidence lies with the cracks on my face

But what do you really see when you look my way

When I stand before you, do you ever feel afraid?

Under all my flesh you have found my broken heart

Every smile of mine you know gets pulled apart

But somehow you always manage to hold me close

Being in your arms, takes away every single ghost

So forever with you I wish to remain

Deep inside you I crawl, a warm shelter from the rain

This was a little happier than your other poems. I liked it. I've run out of things to say about your poems, though. They are all really fucking good, and they always seem to flow with such ease.

So.....keep em comin!

Question, are you the angel of death. Just kidding of course. I'm retracting that last comment in case you really are by the way. I gave Mr. Collett a challenge when he was on here. To write a happy cheerful poem. He got halfway through his poem and it turned dark. He failed. I believe there is sunshine in your heart however, and you could write an entire poem of love and bliss.

Ok, this is where you tell me to blow it out my ass.

This, like all your poems are dark in nature, but that is a talent in its self.

I had a puppy once, but then I impaled it with a very dull stick.

This was really great! You start out kind of morose, then at the end you seem to gain hope. I love how you aren't afraid to put something of yourself in each of your poems. It gives us all a glimpse of the person you are. =]

I suppose the clue is always there - in your name.

Been in places where you 'live', but at 55 going on 56 I think I've come through that part of my life.

Still got the memories though, and they're not all good.

Nice flow, good subject. Touches the heart (no sarcasm from me).

Happiness and depression. Which is easier to see, which is easier to be? How would we know Happiness with out knowing depression? Find what makes you happy and cut out those dark things that drag you down. Sun is always rising somewhere if you look.

It was good but sometimes i felt you were rhyming for the sake of it. Liked the emotion put into the poem though and the theme of it.

It's amazing how it only takes one person to bring you shelter amongst a storm, whether it be a loved one or a true friend. I like the somber overtone you placed in this writing of hope.
