"What do you think you're doing, Holly?" Daniel asked, his voice chilling me to the bone, "Did I not hurt you enough last time?" he spat. I froze, half in the corridor outside, and instantly retreated, like I was told to. "I don't know what I was thinking, I'm sorry..." I hung my head and prepared myself for the beating which I knew, with no doubt, that he would deliver; ‘last time' he had almost killed me, beating me unconscious and continuing to ravage me while I lay unmoving. "Honey," he glided to my shaking body and took my face in a vice-like grip, "I've had enough of your petty excuses, now I have no patience for you." He smiled a wolfish grin and cadged me with his arms. His left hand held me still while his right hit me again and again and again.... "Please," I whimpered, blood dripping from my torn lip and onto his onto his crystal white shirt, "I won't do it again." I felt my eyes stinging as tears filled them; I was so scared of him and what he could do to me that I suspected that my heart was cruel in that it kept me alive. "You said that last time." He growled as I struggled to escape him. Daniel would not let this control he had over me go.
I had to escape, I had to. Copyright 2008 Jessica |
