Oh summer is here

The weather is warm

Short shorts and tank tops

Is how they're adorned

School has concluded

That is, til next fall

Vacations and sleeping in

Just having a ball

But that's just the surface

What you see when they're out

Inside things are different

Makes me cower and shout.

When they're inside, they're screaming

And pulling out hair

Tears wetting cheeks

Shouts fly through the air

She's sitting on my seat!

She's giving me looks!

She hit me in the face with that really heavy book!

Oh come quickly school year!

Give me a break father time!

If it takes any longer

I'm not sure I'll survive!

Posted by harmattan 2008-09-02 05:47:09 AMVOS Tearing one's hair out is never "cute", never pleasant to do but always funny to watch. Saw it for a few years from a teacher's point of view, reversed. We used to say "That is what they send us every day. Let's see how they like it!" Loved that "giving me looks" bit. Kids always fall back on that one when they cannot think of any thing else.
