Please Run Far Away

Every smile that I have ever showed, turns to dust

Every door that leads into happiness, falls apart from rust

It seems like I can't get out of my own insides

My heart could be your face in disguise

Snow falls outside, blanketing the cold hard ground

I'd love to touch it, but to my sorrow I am bound

And I'd love to taste those tender lips you hold

To look into your eyes, it would be like finding gold

But you need to take yourself away from me

Do not come closer, on you my disease it will feed

Please, escape and run far away into the woods

And I promise you I would love you, if I could

Just run and never look back

You're too beautiful to immerse yourself in black

From my window, I'll be watching you run

Thinking to myself, what you and I could've become

Oh, how I love commenting on poetry! They are so deep, so beautiful, yet so simple to follow and they hardly ever bore me.

I loved your poem, especially these lines:

"Do not come closer, on you my disease it will feed."

The syntax is turned around in a strange, yet absolutley beautiful way! Love it

And:

"You're too beautiful to immerse yourself in black."

Beautiful, beautiful line.

Liked it. It reminded me of a poem from schooldays - "The Lady of Shallotte" (can't remember the author) She was trapped in a room and forced to view the world through a mirror. So sad.

Good poem.

This was a really nice poem. Especially the simile in the beginning.

" Every smile that I have ever showed, turns to dust

Every door that leads into happiness, falls apart from rust"

It fitted well but the only problem I saw was the next verse I really have no idea what you mean. So if you could explain it that would help.

the character in this is trapped in his insides and he starts to think that maybe the person he thought he was is gone and he is really turning into the woman he loves. and even his own heart has changed into hers.

but wow, thank you everyone for your comments.

Every door that leads to happiness falls apart from rust; as opposed to, every door that leads to sadness I recieve with gladness. I have experienced this not a few times.

good poem
