Being with James was like dying and going to heaven. She couldn't stop getting the warm fuzzy feeling she got everytime she felt his hand grabbed hers. They went to every home game together and walked to lunch together. Hanging out with him was way much more fun then hanging out with Lissa any day. Not that she didn't love Lissa like a sister but she loved James too. They did everything together like Allie and Noah off the Notebook. But one day he dropped a big bomb on her. Let's just say it surprised her. "Hey, are you doing anything after school, Lori?" he asked. "What do you mean?" "I want to meet you after school. For something special." "Really? Where?" "The space right by the downstairs to the band room." James knew about it because he was a trumpeter. Well, actually everyone knew about it. It was... Lori gasped. That was the part of the school everyone met to kiss. James was going to kiss her! "What?" he asked. "You're going to kiss me, aren't you?" He sighed. How could she guess? Well, everyone goes there to do that you retard. "Lori, Lori, Lori. You are sure a smart one." he brushed her pigtails like he always did. "I had a dream about that last night." she whispered. "Really? Tell me about it." he whispered back softly. "I was going to kiss you, but you we're all like "No, not now." and you stepped back. "I dreamed the almost same thing. You were too nervous and couldn't do it at the last moment." She lifted her head. If she had the nerve she would kiss him right now. James would be her first kiss. How could she not get nervous at it? But she is not going to chicken out. She vowed it to herself. James kissed her on the cheek and went on to Spanish class after he whispered good bye. She went to Keyboarding when he went to that class. Well, I better get ready for my first kiss she thought to herself.
"I'll see you tomorrow, Lissa." she went down to the other end of the hallway and by her locker James was waiting. "Ready?" "Sure." "Follow me then." he went down one flight of stair and another, then he turned to the right and stopped. He stared right at her. "Are you nervous?" She nodded. Then she could not prepare herself for what happen next. James closed his eyes and leaned into her lips and kissed her. She kissed back. She hoped she would pop her foot like in the movies, but she didn't. She kept her thoughts in the kiss and after a full min he backed off. "See you tomorrow." She watched him go and follow him out to the buses and got on hers. Maybe just maybe she could've told him she loved him. She should have because she if knew she was never going to see him again she would have told him. But she didn't know that she would never see him again. Lacey Lori's life was not going to last much longer and she didn't know it. Copyright 2008 Candee Ivy |
