A Doberman is like a protector

It protects and loves its owner dearly

It is loyal and possessive

If anyone hurts its owner,

That person will know the Doberman's fury

Now the owner trains the Doberman

Teaches it how to guard and watch

The Doberman learns and takes the lesson to heart

The owner is equally protective of the Doberman

It is a sacred bond between protector and protected

The Doberman follows every command

It obeys and carries out each order with precision

It does what it is told and does not protest

For if it protests it will suffer the consequences

And it knows those consequences

This didn't seem like poetry, I guess, to me, it read more like a commentary. The words seemed like words you find in a book on Dobermans.

A dog is a faithful animal. You bring it out very well in this poem. Even human beings become selfish but the same can never be said for a dog. They ever remain with their owner as a protector. Thoughtful.
