She took her seat in the classroom. Algebra wasn't her favorite subject but her teacher, Mr. Dander was really funny and wasn't too strict. She sat behind Alylissa who she called Lissa. She was her best friend since she moved to Rosefield from Georga. She was a pastor's daughter known to love Lord of the Rings, Star Wars and anything weird. James sat across from her and her other two guyfriends Coby and Mitch sat behind him. Everybody had just come in and they started chatting. "Hey, what up Lori?" James asked. He was the only one to call her by her middle name. It was sort of a pet name from him to her. "Nothing much." "I notice you've being staring at Mitch lately." "Huh? I might have been maybe. I've been told I'm his brand new girlfriend." "Yeah. So back off, James." Mitch yelled from the back. James looked down and layed down his head. "Lacey Lori, is that true?" Lissa asked. "Not really. I'm just playing with James." she whispered back. "Ok, everybody. Let's go over the homework from last night." Mr. Dander started quoteing off equations from the book and started writing them on the board. They were in the middle of number ten when a piece of paper hit her desk. It said "Lori" on the front. It must have been from James. It said: You broke up with me. You broke my heart. I have nothing to live for the only option is sucicide. GOODBYE What!? What does he mean I broke his heart? He's the one who broke mine. But she wrote: I'm sorry. Please forgive me. I would never hurt you. Hugs. She looked back up to the board. Another one hit her desk. It was a JOKE I HATE YOU she wrote back. They started passing notes back and forth this is how the conversation went until the end of class. Oh come on. You seriously can't take a joke. So what if I can't? Sometimes I'm tired of people treating me like crap I dont You are right now Well, I'm sorry. There's something I need to ask you. Well, go ahead spit it out. Will you go out with me? I know you not going out with Mitch Um, I guess so. Why not?
When she passed that note back the bell rang. It was time to go to English and she realized her feeling was right. He was feeling different. Maybe different enough to fall in love with her just like she was in love with him. She didn't know. All she knew right now was that she was now going out with James Kellie.
