Remission

There's a word
I've longed to hear
ever since that very first day
they spoke the
leukemia one
to me.

Cancer was never
my best look,
it's something
I just couldn't wear.

Between the then
and now
I've heard many words
uttered by doctors
telling me
to settle for the worse.

At certain times,
when darkness won the day,
I found myself
deep within
their words,

but another voice
deep within my dreams
kept telling me
they were wrong
and His voice
was the one I turned to most.

Today,
after painful spinal tap
my smooth talking doctor
told me all the cancer
was gone,
said the word
I've longed for
all along.

Remission,
a shimmering word
tantalizing
on distant horizon
now resonates
through my mind
and fills my heart with hope.

Wonderful

I especially love the last part "Remission,

a shimmering word

tantalizing

on distant horizon

now resonates

through my mind

and fills my heart with hope."

Beautiful poem.

Mr. Potter

I glad to see yer. I fer sure owe yer a special thank you, as well as yer wife, so if yer'd be so kind to tell her such fer me, I'd be grateful.

I spend a lot of time on children's cancer ward when health allowed, I plan on continuing to share with these little hearts Poetry and conversation. They're may favorite people, I have quite a few verses written in this collection concerning my time with them. So inspiring are their hearts. They have amazing spirits. Truly.

Anyway, thank yer so much.

Happy beginning

Aye, thank yer say that to me Max.

Hehe, I been sleeping with test results that read cancer is gone in me hand and keep waking up to read such wonderful word 'remission' over and over.

It like dream I had so many, many time over this past year, but this time it's real and makes me want to wake up rather than fall back asleep in order to chase remission dream before it get away again.

Thank yer so much fer yer kind support and wonderful friendship Max.

Yer've made me laugh many times, yer so damn funny, most of this hilarity yer brought my way on some of me darker more sad days.

Oh yes...

I love remission word so much!

Ooh, especially when doctor who say to me I only have a few months left to rhyme says it. Hehe

Anyway Dirk, yer been good friend to me too. Yer truly understand how the daily grain of sand in shoe can wear down the mind and spirit more than the mountains I've had to climb.

Not many do...

Aye, yer a good un, thank yer.
