Alone he sits, confined by the walls Of madness and evil. He runs the labyrinth of his mind, trying to escape his demons and the demons from beyond.
He leaves the walls once in a while only to return to that providing cell. He cannot live with out them, yet They are killing him from within.
The ones on the outside His best friends and acquaintances Know nothing of his hell Or his longing for them.
They unknowingly save him Help him through another day Knowing they're there Escaping the walls once more.
He wants to let them know How much they mean to him. Let the one know what goes on Beyond his walls.
But what will the one do, knowing his friend's pain? Avoid, understand? Avoid? He cannot take that chance.
Three years is all, until The walls finally crumble Thinner they get, as each Day goes by.
All he, or I, as you see, Can hope for is the one's kindness and love, and maybe My mind will be salvageable still. Copyright 2008 Tom Shandruk |
