Well you were in my dreams, once
we were running from all the people
who thought they knew what we wanted
and we were nearly free
when you fell down on your face
and though I waited my youth away
you never got up again

and I know that was only dreaming
and I know there's a day you'll die
there's nothing you can do,I know,I know
but does it really need to be so soon?

Well,we're all living up to someone's expectation
and they all thought you'd turn out bad
you never got a chance to explain
that it wasn't you, it was just your luck

though they seemed to give you the same as the rest
they never really believed you'd be something
and now you seem to be proving them right
you're tragic, you're losing to them, to shame.
