Now you might be wondering why it is The Magical Village of Piffer and, incase you are, I will tell you. Piffer is the only known fairie village, and everyone knows that fairies are magical creatures. Therefore, it just makes since that, Piffer is a magical village. Well, when this girl grew up she decided to find The Magical Village of Piffer. She wanted to go and play with the fairies. She wasn't a very smart girl, though. She had a compass and, as everyone knows, a compass always points north. Only not everyone does know, because nor all compasses point north. But this one did. However, she had been told that it would always point to The Magical Village of Piffer. Her grandmother had told her, and she always believed her grandmother. Off she went, following her compass north, into a forest. The girl had been traveling about a day when she heard a noise in the bushes to her left. She heard something like a squeaking sound. She thought about not going and seeing what it was, but she decided upon investigating. As she got closer she could tell that it was a thorn bush the sound was coming from. As she came within five feet of the bush she could make out the noise to be a cry for help. She got next to the bush and saw a little fairie, about half her height, stuck in the thorny bush. He was glowing a royal purple colour. "Mr. Fairie, are you alright?" The young girl asked. "No, I am not alright because I am stuck in this bush," the fairie replied. "Can you help me?" "I can try." The young girl helped the fairie out of the bush. She thought that it looked very painful for the fairie. After getting out of the bush and composing himself he spoke. "Hello, my name is Erik, prince of the fairies. It is my pleasure to meet you. I thank you for rescuing me from that thorn bush." "I'm Darcie," the girl replied. "I am searching for Piffer, do you know where that is?" "Yes, and I am headed that way myself. I would be happy for you to join me." They headed off for Piffer. The trip was very beautiful. Darcie saw many flowers, all of them very pretty. It was summer and the flowers were in full bloom. Shades of red, yellow, and orange adorned the flowers. The girl wished that her grandmother could be here. Her stories did not seem as beautiful as the real thing. Her grandmother's stories were mostly about the fairies themselves. When they reached the village they saw squirrels surrounding it. "The squirrels are back," Erik observed. "The squirrels like to come and steal our food supply. We fend them off as much as we can but often they steal a lot of our food. My father, the king, will need me. You should stay here until the fighting is over." The girl stayed put as she was told and Prince Erik went down to aid in the fighting. The fighting went on for a while. It was not very serious other than the fact that without food the fairies would die. The squirrels broke into the village and Darcie could stay put no longer. She rushed out from were she was and at the sight of her the squirrels, and many of the fairies, ran off to hide. A human can be a scary thing when they're much taller then you. The girl was very confused. She knew that squirrels used to run from her so maybe these were just normal squirrels. But fairies are supposed to be very friendly. Her grandmother had told her so. "Fairies used to be quite friendly but we haven't had visitors in years and I suppose they have forgotten," Erik explained. "I am sure that if you hang around long enough they will get used to you. "I am grateful for your help against the squirrels." The girl stayed awhile in the village. Prince Erik enchanted her compass to point The Magical Village of Piffer. But one day she went back to the town she had lived in as a little girl. She got married and had three kids, whom she told stories to of The Magical Village of Piffer. She gave her children the enchanted compass so that they too might travel there. Copyright 2008 Lily Qwert |
