Beget

You breathed life into this dusty shell

Saved me by knowledge from eternal hell

But there's a catch you gave to this brethren

Amongst my kind I will be marked heathen

God-given sexuality

Beget

God-given fears

Beget

God-given isolation

Beget

God-given self hating

You sent her into my life at a time

When inner turmoil was at it's prime

She taught me to accept myself, to bloom

Until she rethought her convictions, then left me to doom

God-given friendship

Beget

God-given second questioning

Beget

God-given desertion of me

Beget

God-given self hating

You poured life into this dusty cell

Dropped in chromosomes sharper than a nail

Provided no way out

Showed me you exist, Living Water, yet hid the spout

God-given burdens

Beget

God-given struggling

Beget

God-given defeat

Beget

God-given self hating

Beget

God-given pondering if I should give up God

Very interesting! I think I can see how each begets the next, in most situations. A very unusual layout for a poem, very striking

This is written in such a lyrical pattern, it could easily be put to music. But I guess most song are typicaly poems in disguise. I appreciate poems that are true to form as this one is.

This is an exemplary poem. We describe God in loving words. And you have realised love in this life. Here you are assimilating God and the love of your life. One begets the other. Good.
