At The End there is Nothing |

Around her there is
nothing but dead
bodies and broken buildings
and yet she feels at peace now
that the war is finally at an end
She wonders
to herself, as she is alone now,
if that is the wrong way to feel.
She may be the only one with a heart that's still beating
she knows that the spilt blood shall stain
Her hands red until it is she that dies.
She finds herself wondering if
Her tiny children will see blood on her hands
and feel repulsed by it.
Her husband will see
the red stains
he will accuse her
of what she has done
her marriage will mean nothing
for once a person has killed
however just her cause may be
she is addicted to
the death around her
and will kill again for sure.
She has to leave now
leave everything she loves
and start again
for now she has killed
She will do so again
It's inevitable
it's a curse of a soldier
who has killed for her country. Copyright 2008 Jessica |
