Quickened

Scores of desperate increments
Dropped vaguely as to hint
Peace entrapped by blackened silk
Life spun instead of spent

Bled in metaphoric fields
 Beneath my quickened sky
Gleaning time in silver pools
To yield Love's sorrowed cry

Hiding eyes to speak without
The comfort of a smile
Then breathing in to breathe within
Existence for awhile
