I Pledge Allegiance

A concerned citizen for the United States

I often worry about what direction we will take

Our government continues to lay in waste

While officials stuff their face,

With riches and gold

And we pathetic human beings, still do what we're told

Do you have no respect for yourself

Staying in your head, while our country goes to hell

And you pledge allegiance everyday

Your hand on your heart, but always ready to betray

You follow orders, whatever they might be

Dropping chemical bombs on people just like you and me

Innocents get killed for no reason at all

Blood is smeared all over this wall

Cures for diseases, still can't be found

Scientists spinning their excuses around and around

Please get off your useless knees

And bring this world its much needed peace

Do not do what they say

Stand up and tell them you're not fake

I stand here in the church in front of the cross

With tears in my eyes for all that has been lost

I've paid my dues, I've made my mistakes

But you people, you will never change

The crashing waves flow ever near

They will wipe me away, washing clean every bit of fear

I myself am more conservative (heck i've got the u.s. flag tattooed on my leg) but i have always respected the opinion of others. being able to have opposing views is one good thing about this country :) + Report this comment
