Heero clawed his way across the dirt floor of his self proclaimed prison, now turned to his personal grave site.  Going on for over a month without real food or water, except that of a few grubs and the rain water that streamed down into small puddles, he was finally giving up on living, finally ready to accept the fate he had chosen.  As he pulled himself up against the nearest wall, Heero closed his eyes and tried to call back to his minds eye the sight of such beauty that had brought him to so much pain.  Her dark violet eyes had intrigued him, seeming to hold some secret deep within that no one could ever truly find out, her dark skin leaving to the imagination where she may have come from, how she ended up in such unforgiving lands.  She'd had hair as dark as ravens wings that shown blue and green in the light of a warm Summers day.  Nothing and no one had ever gotten to him in such a way that she had, never touched his heart so deep down that it had torn him apart just to have her near.  He guessed she really never understood the hold she had over him, never knew that she could have robbed, beaten, then killed him and he still would have loved her just the same.  The only thing that could never be forgiven in his eyes was for her to leave him without her love, and that's exactly what she‘d done.  His head drifting to one side began to sag under the weight he hadn't really remembered being there a moment ago.  No, he still loved her with all of his heart, even now she was his world and he would die if he could not have her. So that was why he was here, now, dying alone in this hell hole.  As his eye lids became heavy, his vision blurry, all he could think about were those eyes the first time he'd looked into them.

Ice blue eyes stared out along what seemed to be a never ending road, it always did when the trip was one she had no interest in.  As trees flew by her pale blonde hair fluttered in the wind, the clouds above in the blue skies knowing nothing of her sadness as the sun shown more brightly than ever before.  On such a day as this she should be out in the gardens, walking among the flowers and enjoying the cool waters of the swimming pond.  It seemed however that fate always seemed to intervene at the most impromptu times, taking her away from a beautiful day or important personal business.  She could never really remember why she had been so foolish as to tell anyone she had these powers, the ones to see into others inner thoughts.  Now at the age of twenty she should be married off to someone of power, according to her father at least, but she had different plans in mind.  Her carriage began slowing down as the stretch of trees cleared onto a more traveled looking path, buildings beginning to show in the distance.  This would be like any other time she had to assist someone with an interrogation, or at least that's what they called it.  All she had been told was that they needed her to help them find a missing woman, that they believed she had been kidnapped and possibly killed by a man who had been stalking her, according to the family of the woman.  Already prepared for what was to come, she sighed heavily as they reached the first buildings that declared they'd arrived to the village of Taesyn.

The rain water began dripping down from the ceiling, hitting his face in a steady beat, waking him from his hunger caused blackout.  Opening his eyes Heero looked around the darkened room wondering how long he'd been out.  Putting his hands against the cold dirt he tried to push him self up.  The jagged rocks of the walls around him didn't seem as rough against his numb body, the sounds of the forest around him dulled it seemed.  Nothing was as clear as it had been, nothing seemed normal anymore, familiar as it always had been.  Stepping away from the wall, Heero continued to walk towards the way outside.  A bright light flooded into the room as he came within inches of the exit.  He fell back onto the floor, hitting the ground hard as people came towards him.  Unable to see anything but their outlines, his eyes still not adjusted to the light filtering in around them, Heero put his arms up in front of him, one to block the light while the other was set into a fist close to his side.  "Who are you?" he yelled "Why are you here?"

She was lead down a long hallway that was connected to the holding cells, where he was being held.  "This way, he's right through here." her escort directed as they came upon the cell of the man she was to interrogate.  Rounding the corner to the small room, she found it black as night, the sounds of dripping water floating to her ears.  She couldn't help but to feel bad for the poor man.  Seeing him down on the dirt flooring of his cell, he was curled up in a corner ready to fight it looked.  "You may leave now." she said waving off the guards.  Her escort looked on as they all left then back to her hard stare.  "You too." she waved him off as he looked on in bemusement, before seeing the seriousness in her eyes. He left in a huff behind the guards, closing the door to the cell behind him.  She took a few steps toward him, still curled in defensiveness in the corner.  The torch they had set near the door was the only light in the room she now noticed.  Putting one hand out to him she spoke softly, "Hello, my name is Eternity Shinzõ, but you can call me Eden."

Heero looked up from under his shielding arm.  His fist slowly unclenched as he saw nothing but a small woman standing before him.  "Elizander?" he said.  ‘No' he shook his head, ‘she said her name was Eden.'  he put both arms on the ground, bracing his own body weight.  "This isn't my home." he looked down at the floor.

She could barely make out his face.  His hair was black or very dark brown, his skin pale from lack of sun rather than heritage, his eyes she'd yet to get a good look at.  "What's your name sir?" she inquired.  "It is proper manners that when one introduces them self to you, you do the same in return."

He huffed at that. "You are correct my lady, my apologize.  It is just that I am in a strange state of mind, not knowing where I am or why I am not dead as I should be."  He huffed again, more of a laugh this time.  "My name is Heero Kuri."

about the story...

There will be more coming, obviously because this is part one. Also Eden is being used in this story, and i'm not sure if i used Heero once before as well, but most of my characters were created to be flexible and be used in any story, so i hope no one has any major problem with me, well in the best terms, recycling my characters. if so let me know, but i must warn that any character changes might result in changes of the story as well.

Thanks for reading, and always give me some good criticism, i can always use it.

....

It was interesting.. I was confused at first with the sudden change from Heero to Eden, I always use something( ****** ) to space between sections when I do that. Anyway, I'd like to read more. It held my interest without really giving any information so I'm curious. :)

Great beginning

very well written.

I blame the site, not the writings, on it being a bit confusing when you switched characters.
