The sleek black Mercedes rolled smoothly around the corner of the boulevard, its inky tires crunching on the gravel. Lara's olive green eyes darted distractedly around the car, taking in the dark leather seats, pausing at Oliver the chauffeur's black hat, his dark hair sticking out neatly underneath. He glanced in the mirror, caught her eye, and turned his silver blue eyes back to the road. She studied her jet-black nails, running her long, pale fingers over each other. The car slid into the parking bay, pulling slowly up at the marble stairs leading to the massive heavy oak doors. ‘Here you are miss.' Oliver smiled awkwardly, his British accent shaking slightly. ‘Wait, here, I'll get that for you.' He muttered quickly as her hand moved to the door handle, leaping from the driver's seat and opening the door for her with a low bow. She smiled gracefully, one black stiletto hitting the tarmac, shortly followed by the other. She pulled him gently to face her by the collar of his suit shirt. Her eyes were at his nose with the added height of her shoes. ‘Why so formal?' she smirked, her head tilted inquisitively to the side, her brunette hair falling loosely over her shoulder. ‘It's my job miss,' he smiled awkwardly. ‘Relax ok.' She rested the palms of her hands on his shoulders. ‘Would you like me to walk you in?' he smiled, shaking his head restlessly and offering her his arm. ‘That would be great.' He closed the door behind her before leading her up the great marble steps. The heavy doors arrived too quickly for the both of them; he clasped the wrought iron handle, heaving the door open for her with a sorry smile. Dropping all formality, she hugged him tightly around the shoulders, his cologne mixing with her perfume. ‘Thank you so much.' She whispered quietly. ‘Don't worry about it. You need a lift home?' he smiled softly, holding her gently at arms length. ‘Um, no.' she bit her lip, her cheeks flushing. ‘I'm staying at Jack's house actually.' ‘Oh, ok.' He bit his cheek awkwardly. ‘Have a great night, I'll see you tomorrow?' ‘Yep.' ‘Ok, yeah have fun.' He hugged her quickly before leaving her at the door. ‘You look great.' He muttered quietly. She glanced quickly at his silhouette running briskly down the steps before turning to the crowded room ahead. Jack was meandering slowly towards her, acknowledging his friends with quick nods. ‘Finally,' he grinned, perfect white teeth blinding her. ‘You look beautiful,' he held her face in his hands before hugging her tightly around the waist.
