In the car, I am silent. When the sign Comes into view, I know it's tome to begin a new day.
I stride into the gym And look for a spot to stretch. I warm up A bar routine. The chalk flies and I smile, As I stick my double back.
The lonely beams Seem to be smiling And saying, "Leap on up!" On it's back, I warm up my skills And dance.
I picture myself at the Olympics, On the first place podium. My back tuck is up next, So I flip, and stick it.
I do my routine over and over again. But this time I look Around and try to wonder What the people in the lobby Think about our team.
It is time for my turn On our floor routines. I sit in my beginning pose. My music starts, and I am right there with it, Trying to keep my dance in rhythm With the music. To dance gracefully and tumble forcefully is woth a popsicle from Mrs. Larissa.
It is time For my favorite event Vault. I sprint aggressively towards the vault And fly over it. Soaring, I am like a bird slashing through the wind. STUCK! The crowd goes wild And I grin.
All to soon it's 7:25 and I stretch My hamstrings and hip flexors out so i do not get sore. I wash my hands and put My clothes on over my leotard. In the car, I am silent.
