Useless---By Christina Workman

“You work hard…all day and I do nothing! I don’t work. I…sit around..sit around all day doing nothing. I’M USELESS!!!”

He lay beside her stroking her long brown hair. That is one of the many things he loved about her. She had had these so called “hissy-fits” when they were together before. This time around was different. He was making an attempt to understand what Bi-polar meant. The definition along with what the medicines were called and what they did were confusing. It hurt him to see her like this. Crying, shaking, and going on about how she felt useless. He was worried one of these days she might try to kill herself when one of these fits came along. Instead of running and hiding he sat beside her held her and let her get these feelings out. After she went through an episode he would continue to hold her. When she looked up at him when she realized he wasn’t leaving she would smile and give him a kiss that said a lot. He doesn’t believe in the term normal. He doesn’t stick around to see if she will ever be “normal”. He sticks around for the hugs, kisses, and the simple fact that she trusts him enough to talk to him about her problem.

This seems like something that should be filed under non-fiction.
