CHAPTER 4

Discoveries

We got back into our clinic and realized the hospital across the street had a lot more room then our little clinic and the lights were all on and they possibly had better medicine. The lights were off in this hospital before we left for Gathers; maybe someone was in there maybe... So we decided once we transported everyone in the clinic over to Uptare Hospital across the street we would go back to Gathers and get those patients we had to run from.

 "Maybe we could save them all" I thought out loud, "don't think so upbeat, son" said one of our patients "God's getting back at us for what we've done" he said this in a serious tone. I realized who the man was, it was Herbert Godiefiy the town's local priest "If I die today it is because the man upstairs wills it don't give me any medication, my medicine is God"."Wow devoted" i thought silently in my head. All I could do was stare blankly into his white sickly eyes and try and contemplate how we're going to save these people.

I walked up to the stranger who seemed to know a lot about this and asked him "What's in your bag, stranger?" He pulled out a newspaper from Wisconsin and said to me "Call me Sergei, and read this" the paper said front page "Mysterious Fog Claims 100 lives" Sergei looked at me and said "my wife, my kids and my grandchild were in that first 100, the first to go and it all started in Wisconsin, I got home from work one day to find them all dead, all for a cure for this ******* fog experiment." "A cure? How?" I asked "the scientists killed the non-infected people to try and find a cure for themeslves with thier blood."

 "Fog experiment??" I said curious "Yeah some military weapon project supposed to turn this Iraq thing around. Likkety-split they wouldn't even know wha they were dieing from, I killed one of the scientist's responsible for this mess.He was running away trying to catch a flight out of Wisconsin to Ohio thats how i got here, he knew what went wrong and tried to escape befoe t could catch up with him."

"What is this thing then?" I asked interested "wish I could tell you but I don't really even know i just know whats in this paper and some stuff I've seen, the man I killed took a bunch of that immunity stuff with him and drank most of them before he died, he left 4 vials which are all used up by me you and the boy, I got one left" he looked disappointed in this discovery. "We should start transporting these people soon" I said "Yeah I agree and fast."

Posted by Egoist 2008-05-10 10:54:11 .... Wow, a lot of symbolism going on with the priest denying God's will. That's probably going to be a favorite part of this. Oh this is real exciting now, a whole lot more stuff is learned. Fog experiment? And it's bringing everything into present day reality? Crap, this is getting great. + Report this comment
