The brig door was kicked open by none other than Scarlet herself, with Yasac being dragged behind her by two soldiers and the captain of the ship following the rear. Both Yasac and Scarlet had been stripped of their weapons and coats. Scarlet's frilly white shirt had been dirtied but still looked as fashionable without her long vest. Yasac however looked much thinner without his long coat. His worn white tunic was patched in many places along with his baggy dark pants.

"Sweat not sweeties, all is well!" an unchanged Scarlet exclaimed.

The crew turn to Scarlet confused.

          "Scarlet!" Revloc shouted happily.

"What's the news captain?" Chives inquired.

"Well! I told them the truth!" Scarlet yelled as she was pushed forward for the rest of the line to enter the brig.

"The truth?" Sally asked a bit more awake now.

"Aye, I told them we were just a bunch of washed up sailors that crashed on the island in the storm because we tried to sail across the Atlantic with a crew of six!" Scarlet explained.

"Quite, in the cage hooknail." The British captain ordered as one of the guards unlocked Ayafre and Jane's cage. Scarlet entered while the two men threw Yasac in behind her. Yasac flopped onto the wood floor as one of the soldiers spat on him.

"Yasac!" Ayafre shouted worriedly as she bent down to examine his ability to breathe.

"Is he dead?" Revloc asked concerned.

          "No..." Ayafre murmured happier now.

"But he will be soon. A strange one him, he hasn't awakened since my men beat him down on that beach event as my men beat him on board my ship he would not awaken. But seeing that your...pirate crew is nothing more than a band of wandering fools, you will be put on trial in Grand Bahama which we sail for with all speed. Consider yourselves lucky pirates these days are put to death immediately."

"Thank you my good sir!" Scarlet exclaimed.

"Of course, not that it will matter. You Scarlet, and your crew are all wanted back in Europe as criminals and that Yasac fellow killed one of my men. I suppose your really only lucky if you prefer a hanging to decapitation and feeding to sharks." The captain stated blandly.

"What! No you said!" Scarlet shouted feeling betrayed.

"Yes that gold on your ship is a nice addition thank you for your cooperation." The captain said with a smirk.

The captain motioned to the guards and the British left the brig.

          "The gold?" Jane inquired.

"Aye...I figured a bribe was in order to save our skins but now I guess we lost our gold and the Mañana."

          "Mañana too?" Sally asked.

"Yeah my plan was to get us just locked in a jail while they take the Mañana into a port and fix her up for us and the gold was so we got some nice seats nearby. Bloody Captain Anderson, I hope his bones rot." Scarlet confessed with a sigh.

          "Friggen tiz," Revloc cursed.

It was quiet in the brig as the crew pondered their fates.

          "How's Yasac?" Sally asked.

"Well...it looks like none of the musket fire hit anything vital actually." Ayafre said somewhat upbeat.

"Makes sense, only an idiot fires a musket in pitch black at point blank," Chives commented.

          "He's just...sleeping," Scarlet stated.

"Almost better for him, I dun wanna think about that noose." Sally stated grimly.

"Hey now! That's no way to talk. We'll find a way out of that jail." Scarlet encouraged.

Later that day the British ship arrived in Grand Bahama and the Mañana crew was sent to jail to await execution after a speedy trial that included two British captains being told the incident by the Captain Anderson. The whole crew was to be executed in three days at dawn on the third day. The crew was separated into a dark four story town prison. Scarlet and Sally however found themselves in separate cells across from each other on the highest story. The cells and the whole prison was completely stone and gray and very dark. Only some cells had barred windows allowing some light into the prison. There were however a significant number of cracks and holes in the ceiling that allowed hopeful beams of light to shine into the dank place. Small puddles of water could be seen all over depressions in the floor, most likely from the storm as the ceilings looked unstable with cracks in corners. Iron bars extended from the ceiling to the floor save a hinged door that would open and swing inside as there was only a yard and a half of waking space down the hall. The hall extended all the way across the length of the entire building and led to a guard house on each corning of the prison, each being the only safe way down to earth. Each cell was allotted a metal cot frame fixed into the wall with some straw on the frame.

"Not many prisoners here," Sally commented.

"No I think we are the only ones in this hall," Scarlet concluded.

"Did you see where they took anyone else?" Scarlet asked.

"Well Yasac was carried up here with us and if he isn't in this hall he must be on the other side."

"Other side? Aren't there four sides to a building?"

"Not this one I got a good look at the front where we were brought in. The front has lots of windows so it must be the barracks probably not build like these halls either, I think they purposely made these cells tighter while there is plenty of space in the execution courtyard in the center."

"Oh so you did get a good look at this place."

"Aye, there was a missing plank where I was sitting in the prison cart. This place is all built around a big gallows plaza. While we occupy the walls the surround it and the barracks is above the gate and portcullis."

"Oh so it's like a castle and we are stationed in the walls."

"Ya and we are going to hang as the mini keep if we don't get out of here."

"Wait that's still three sides what about the side opposite of the barracks couldn't that be more cells?"

"Yeah I suppose so but that's a lot of cells if they had that whole wall a prison too. My guess its storage and torture rooms unfortunately."

Scarlet gasped

"Storage? Like our weapons maybe?" Scarlet asked

"It's possible they usually keep our weapons around for evidence."

"Well...got any bright ideas how to get out of here?" Scarlet inquired.

"Well only one way, the building looks damaged but these bars are going nowhere, I think they extend all the way to the floor below us. So my bombs aren't much use yet."

          "Wait bombs?" Scarlet exclaimed.

Scarlet noticed her loud voice and both paused to see if they alerted the guards on each side of the hall. Neither guard seemed to care so Scarlet continued in a hushed tone.

"How did you get bombs? They took your coat,"

"Well yes and they found the bombs strapped down my leg but..."

Sally bent down and unbuckled her boot and revealed a small white stocking covered foot with a thin brown leather slipper. She turned the boot upside down and out rolled two small explosives.

"My feet aren't as big as my boots see," Sally explained.

"I love you Sally, wherein a shoe inside a boot, pure genius my dear," Scarlet cried.

"But like I said we have no-where to use it. These cells are too small to use it on the bars; we would kill ourselves even if we hide under our cots."

"No matter we'll find another way, roll em to me I think I'm on the outer side of the wall, maybe I can blow the wall and a tree might be there waiting for me."

"That's quite a hope; I don't think those bombs are strong enough to blow through solid stone either."

Sally carefully rolled the bombs across the hall to Scarlet's cell. Scarlet stuck her arms out of her cell and quickly snatched them up before any guards could see what they were doing. Scarlet stood up and examined her cell as Sally put her boot back over her slippered foot. A guard softly walked up to the girls' cells. Scarlet nearly jumped as she rushed to cross her arms, uncomfortably shoving the bombs in her arm pits.

"Keep quiet you two," The guard gruffly ordered "What are you hiding, strumpet captain?" The guard yelled as he noticed Scarlet oddly postured arms.

"Nothing!" Scarlet said with an excessive laugh as she showed her hands while the bombs remained painfully smashed in her arm pits.

The guard growled and turned away to walk back down the hall.

"Barney! Go get us some ale I'll cover your side in case captain comes." The guard shouted down the hall.

As soon as the guard was a cell away from her own cell, Scarlet got back to work looking for a place to plant the bombs. Sally gasped.

"There in the top corner above your cot corner, there's a hole that can fit the bomb it looks unstable you should only need one," Sally whispered to Scarlet.

Scarlet hopped on her cot and sure enough was a cracked hole in the ceiling corner. Scarlet shoved the bomb into the crack with the fuse facing inside.

"Ok gimme a flint, we'll hide under our cots and I'll get on the roof and hopefully find another place to put the second bomb." Scarlet whispered

"Aye, good luck," Sally answered as she slipped off two of her rings and tossed them to Scarlet. Scarlet caught them and quickly flicked the stones at the fuse. Scarlet jumped off the cot and rushed under her cot and Sally did the same. The bomb exploded blasting out the corner of the ceiling, setting some of Scarlet's cot straw on fire.

"Bloody hell!" Was heard down the hall as the single guard in the hall came running.

Wasting no time Scarlet hopped from her cot to the hole. Half of her body made it up and she carefully pulled herself up with the bomb in her hand and the sheer drop directly to her right. Scarlet disappeared out of her cell onto the roof just as the guard rushed over. The guard panicked and abruptly fumbled with keys to open the cell. The guard hopped on the cot and jumped for the opening.

          "Stop you!" The guard roared.

The guard got his fingers on the edge of roof but he fell backwards. He was starting to get back up when a sizzling bomb plopped right next to him. He looked up to see Sally with a devilish smile and a boot in her hand. The guard rushed to his feet and ran out of the cell. The bomb exploded and the guard was thrown forward into the bars of Sally's cell. Sally caught him and quickly dropped her hands and grasped the keys from his belt.

"Thanks buddy," Sally whispered smugly as the guard passed out.

Scarlet stood atop the wall with the wind throwing her hair about. She could see all of Grand Bahama from atop the prison, which was situated at the low end of the hill that housed the fort at the top that looked over the large port below. The roof of the wall was almost completely flat as it was all of square stone, obviously not meant for anyone to stand upon. Scarlet heard a guard screaming and a bomb explode below her, which she also felt in the roof.

"Better hurry then Scarlet," Scarlet said to herself.

Scarlet burst off down the wall towards one of the towers at the corner of the prison. She eyed the courtyard gallows to be sure no one was watching. Fortunately for her, the lack of windows was a benefit as the courtyard was barren as the dead as those it undoubtably had made so. She reached the tower which was fashioned like a turret and Scarlet quickly carefully edged her way around it along a dangerously small ledge. She made it to the other side with a relieved sigh and again began running down the wall. Scarlet this time eyed the wall she was running on looking for any sign of weakness. After she reached the center of the wall Scarlet came across a cracked area with a noticeable hole in the roof.

"Ah ha! Now just hope there isn't any gunpowder below me and I can continue this crazy escapade," Scarlet said to herself.

Scarlet stuck the bomb in the hole making sure it didn't drop to the floor below her. The bomb fit well into the ceiling and dropped into the hole deep enough, that Scarlet couldn't see it protruding upwards at all. Scarlet reached down and lit the bomb. Scarlet quickly scuttled away over to area of the roof covered in pebbles. Scarlet dropped to her knees and covered her head just before the bomb exploded. Scarlet lifted her head to the disappointing sight of the roof only cracked more, not removed.

"Blast it!" Scarlet roared as she pounded her fist into the stone.

Scarlet suddenly heard a resounding crack. She looked again at the blast zone to see the stone spitting towards her. Her eyes widened but before she could move, the crack formed over to the damaged area Scarlet was sitting on. The stone under her suddenly collapsed and Scarlet fell to the floor below with a crash and a scream. Scarlet coughed violently as she rolled onto her back. She could hear men shouting from down the hall. Scarlet strained her head to find herself in another cell! Scarlet rolled back onto her belly in a panic but dazed. She looked over at the cot to see Yasac sleepily lying there in utter confusion to what just happened.

"Wha?" Yasac started unsure if he was dreaming.

"Hi Yasac!" Scarlet said with a smile.

Yasac looked up at his ruined ceiling and then back at her, Yasac shook his head waking himself up at the sound of guards down the hall.

"This isn't where they put our weapons is it," Scarlet stated.

Yasac did not know how to respond.

"I...uh, I would say something polite but I fear it would only be cliché, otherwise I really have nothing to say at all," Yasac confessed.

"Like nice of me to drop in?"

          "That's the one..."

"How we doin for escaping in this cell?" Scarlet inquired as the guards were getting closer.

"I...I don't remember anything since the...beach. We were on a beach right?" Yasac stated as he rubbed is eyes.

"Oh my you haven't awoken since you were shot?" Scarlet asked.

"I was shot!"  Yasac exclaimed in a daze. "Wait escaping? Why are we talking then?"

"Well honestly that bomb was all I had left; otherwise we aren't getting out of these cells. I figured I might be polite and spend our last free moments conversing with you," Scarlet stated.

"I...see, how very nice of you Scarlet," Yasac stated as he rubbed his leg noticing the pain of his musket wound.

Yasac started get up from his cot just as the prison guards rushed to Yasac's cell.

"Bloody hell what's going on here!" One of the guards roared.

Yasac got up and stumbled over to the cell bars swaying with each step. Yasac held up his hands and blinked his eyes as his head had a sudden sharp pain at the man's loud words.

          "Good sirs..." Yasac started.

Yasac looked over his shoulder to see the unexplainable Scarlet sitting in rubble in his cell.

"I..." Yasac started but cut himself off as he stumbled around obviously not quite used to standing yet.

"What the hell! Is that the captain! What is she doing here!" A guard exclaimed.

"I...well your honors...uh," Yasac rubbed his aching head and suddenly shot his hands out, "Your honor I did not sleep with that woman!" Yasac shouted.

The guards looked at each other confused.

"She's just my partner, not like that!" Yasac rubbed his head again. "Am I dreaming?" Yasac said with a wheeze it was very apparent now that he was not right in the head at the moment.

Scarlet bit her lip as the guards were losing interest in Yasac's foolery. Scarlet stood up and joined Yasac by the bars to keep him from falling over.

Yasac turned to her, "So was this the extent of your plan then?" "Pretty much," Scarlet replied with a saddened laugh.

"Wonderful I love improvising," Yasac stated.

Yasac suddenly fell into the bars and his hand shot out to the nearest guard's neck. The guard pulled back and Yasac grasped his beard instead. Yasac pulled the man back into the bars and smashed his face into them several times. The guard next to him back up and aimed his musket at Yasac. Yasac smashed the bearded guard into the bars once more and speedily took the man's saber and stabbed through the bars into the musket man's hand. The man cried in pain as Scarlet grappled with the third guard through the bars. Yasac fell over sideways as he had overexerted himself with his weak head.

"Yasac!" Scarlet cried as the final guard was choking her through the bars.

Yasac groaned trying to force his body back up. Yasac raised his eyes to Scarlet and the guard fighting above him. Yasac crawled up the bars bringing himself to his haunches. Yasac stole the man's keys and crawled sideways along the bars to the key hole.

"Just a second Scarlet!" Yasac shouted wearily.

Yasac stuck his hands around the keyhole and fumbled the key into the hole. Yasac finally opened it and fell backwards.

          "Pull him back!" Yasac shouted.

Scarlet grasped the man's hand tight to her neck and she struggled to walk backwards. Yasac suddenly kicked the cell door on the man's arm. The guard cried as the arm sounded like it had snapped. The musket man however had removed the saber from his hand and leapt inside the cell and jumped on the fallen Yasac. Scarlet kicked the guard hard in the ribs throwing him off of Yasac and back into the hall. Scarlet then picked up the musket and beat the guard over the head with the stock until the guard moved no more. Scarlet heaved a sigh of relief. Scarlet set the musket down and helped Yasac up.

"Ok...this is a prison right? Yes...yes it is, anyway. I am assuming the rest of the crew is here as well," Yasac figures with himself aloud.

"All correct come on let's get Sally," Scarlet said starting to tug on his white sleeve.

"Wait...we should split up and meet. Uh how big is this prison?"

          "Four stories,"

Yasac nodded, still dazed and trying to think quickly at the same time.

"Ok you get Sally I'll find someone else," Yasac concluded.

Scarlet nodded and started to run. Yasac however held onto her wrist.

"Wait...what floor are we on?" Yasac asked

          "Top floor,"

"Ok where are the guards, you have that musket with the bayonet you should try and take care of them."

"Well ok Sally is right down the hall and then down the other hall but down go down the tower."

"Ok then um...no wait I'll take care of the guards...cause you know where Sally is."

"This place is only hallways you can't get lost."

          "No I can!"

Yasac paused, his brain having trouble doing any more processing. Yasac looked down at the bloodied saber and quickly snatched it up.

"Which way to my swords?" Yasac stated with a sudden determination.

          "I dunno,"

Yasac roared. "Ok you go right I'll go left! I'll take the first stairs I find and you take the first stairs you find after you get Sally."

"Sounds good," Scarlet said eager to get going.

With that the two burst down the hall in opposite directions.

Yasac reached the door to the tower. Yasac gripped the handle of his saber ready to fight. Yasac kicked the door and jumped in ready to strike down everyone around him. However his current story of the tower was completely empty. Yasac wasted no time after he discovered this. Yasac opened the door to the next hall again ready to fight. Yasac looked down the hall to see a guard at the other end.

"Who are you!" The guard shouted and came running.

"Any friends of Yasac here?" Yasac shouted down the hall as the guard approached.

With no reply Yasac quickly slammed the door shut and rushed for the trap door to the floor below. Yasac opened the trap and didn't bother with the ladder and dropped down to find a single guard playing solitaire.

The man screamed and Yasac caught unaware panicked and smashed the saber guard into the man's face knocking him out. Yasac could hear the guard above him. Yasac quickly chose a door and shut it behind him before the pursuing guard dropped down. Yasac ran down the thankfully empty hall.

          "Yasac!" A voice suddenly shouted.

Yasac skidded to a stop and turned to the voice. It was Revloc eagerly waiting in a cell.

"Man this gets old, can't you be the one behind bars for once?"

"In due time my friend. Actually I would have rathered you recued me I just noticed my leg is starting to bleed, and my head feels ready to pop off." Yasac stated as he began to fiddle the lock with his saber.

"Oh yeah, I can see your pants sticking to your leg. And I'm guessing you haven't woke up since the beach. Careful with that lock."

"The beach...yeah it is just starting to come back to me, did I miss anything?"

"Naw, but hey they got Ayafre at the other end of the hall in the armory."

"That's no good, here back off; I don't like this sword anyway."

Revloc backed up a few steps, aware of what Yasac was going to do. Yasac suddenly stabbed forward with the saber into the keyhole. With the sword well jammed into the tumblers, Yasac stabbed again this time going all the way through the tumblers and out the other side, breaking the lock. The cell door burst open and Revloc quickly joined Yasac in the hall.

"The armory is right above the barracks above the guardhouse. We aren't getting in there with our bare fists," Revloc stated.

"There you are prisoner!" A voice cried from the door that Yasac came from.

Yasac and Revloc turned around to see the guard pursing Yasac rushing at them.

"You want him or are you going to be courteous?" Revloc inquired.

"Oh by all means it may be the only one you get today," Yasac said smugly.

Revloc charged at the man charging at him. The guard started to draw his saber but Revloc suddenly sped up and close-lined the guard. Revloc proceeded to beat the man in the face repeatedly.

"Wait! Stop; don't get blood on that vest of his. Gimmie his hat too." Yasac said assuming Revloc would get the idea.

Revloc looked up at Yasac and smiled. Revloc removed the guard's triangular hat and threw it to Yasac, and then picked the man's torso up in order to slide off the guard's British red and white colored vest. Yasac took the vest from Revloc and put it on over his tunic. His white sleeves didn't quite match the guard sleeves but it would have to do as Yasac put the hat on as well. Yasac and Revloc came to the armory door with a small barred window. Yasac peered in the room and saw Ayafre tied tight to a chair and gagged. While quite a few armed guards sat around a table betting on who knows what. Yasac then bit his lip not quite sure what to do. Yasac thought for a bit, muttering words to himself.

Yasac then whispered "Follow my lead."

Revloc nodded. Yasac straitened his coat and brushed a bunch of dirt off Revloc's vest. Yasac then brushed his hair and put a proud esteemed face on. So then Yasac looking as dignified as possible proudly opened the door and strode in.

"Alright gents! Form up!" Yasac shouted in his best English accent. The guards quickly scrambled off their seats and rushed to form a line falling for Yasac's ruse. Before any of them could turn and get a good look.

Yasac shouted again,

"Soldiers are on the verge of a prisoner riot I want this whole floor at the gate now!"

"Prisoner riot, but..." One man started.

          "And...who are you?" Another asked.

"I said now! Did you not hear those explosions we are under siege defend the gate now!" Yasac roared.

The soldiers quickly armed themselves and began marching down a flight of stairs to lower levels.

As most of the guards had left Yasac slowly sat himself on a barrel while Revloc untied Ayafre. She grunted something angry to Revloc and he kindly removed the gag from her mouth.

"Ick, Yasac! I'm so happy to see you alive," Ayafre cried.

"It's what I do best..." Yasac stated as he removed the hat and guard's vest.

Revloc had just freed Ayafre when on the other side of the room the door burst open and several people came running in ready for battle. Until they came upon Yasac, Ayafre and Revloc.

"Nice to see you all again," Yasac said coolly recognizing the intruders as Scarlet, Jane, Chives and Sally.

The four looked over at Yasac in surprise.

"How did ya manage to get rid of all the guards in here?" Sally asked.

"I simple trick but it won't last for long," Yasac answered, "Revloc get Ayafre untied already, someone find my coat and swords, all of our equipment should be in the same place."

The other four began searching around for their weapons as Revloc finished untying Ayafre.

"Something wrong Yasac?" Jane asked noticing he wasn't looking for his swords.

"I haven't been able to properly wake up yet, and my leg hurts like the dickens," Yasac explained.

"Oh yeah, yer still shot aren't ya mate," Scarlet stated.

          "Oh! Found em!" Sally shouted.

Sure enough, freshly placed in a large crate; Yasac's coat Ayafre's blades, Scarlet's staff and everything else belonging to the crew. The crew rearmed themselves with their effects. Yasac lovingly held his katana and reverently tied it to his back under the cloak of his coat. Yasac slowly stood up and unsheathed his saber Geshank and cut some bed sheet from one of the barracks beds. He took a strip and tied it around the wound in his leg to keep the bleeding at a minimum.

"So where do we go from here?" Revloc inquired.

"We have to get out of here, that trick won't last forever," Yasac said.

          "Where are they?" Chives asked.

"At the gate..." Yasac said slowly.

"You sent em to the gate! How the bloody hell are we suppose to get out of here now?" Chives roared.

          "I...I don't know..." Yasac stammered.

"Wait...Yasac what's in that barrel you were sitting on?" Scarlet inquired.

Yasac looked back at the barrel noticing some gray sand around it. Sally rushed over and kneeled down to examine the sand.

"Gunpowder! Everybody grab a barrel and let's go!" Sally exclaimed.

"We don't need that much do we?" Chives remarked.

Sally scowled at Chives.

"Take these to the prison hall on the other side," Scarlet ordered, "While on the roof I noticed a small tree line on a hill that way, it would be perfect,"

"But...we don't need that much gunpowder..." Chives said worriedly.

"Oh don't be such a baby Chives I love explosions," Scarlet said sweetly.

The crew each carried a barrel to the opposite side; they found an open cell and placed all the barrels against the wall.

"Sally...you know this stuff best you do the honors," Scarlet stated.

"Aye!" Sally shouted eagerly as she positioned the barrels in the cell.

"Ok when I lit it everyone run, this is goona be loud!" Sally said excited.

"Should we get into the next hall before you light it?" Jane asked.

"Lighting!" Sally shouted as she pulled a torch from the wall and threw it into the cell.

The whole crew screamed and ran into the nearby prison tower. Just as Sally slammed the door behind her, the barrels exploded shaking the whole building perhaps even the ground around it. The crew then made their escape out of the massive hole jumping from the third story to an inclined hill, next to a tree that used to be brushing the prison. The crew slid down the dirt hill into the city, quickly escaping into the crowds.
