For the Teacher
Behold your precious children, Each the apple of your eye. Unique candles for you to light And to strive to lift up high.
Sweet apples bring pure delight. Fresh and filled with vibrant life, Healthy, bold, appealing, bright. Need a gentle paring knife.
An apple for the teacher, A gift polished shiny red, Reminder of your teaching, Steadily filling each dear head.
Spark their imagination. Guard the wisp of a flame tongue. Provide kindling, slow at first. Add carefully for your young.
Let naught snuff what makes them special, Nor quench their creative thought. Don’t extinguish their brave spirit, But ignite them to be taught.
We’d love to know their future, A guarantee, if we could. We build with each single log, Continue with hard oak wood.
At times we face a challenge. It is an ambitious task. In fact, is the fire failing? “What next?” we slowly ask.
We breathe on glowing embers Which burst anew in flame. The heat is in the heart now, Steadfast depth is our true aim.
Appreciation in their eyes, Excitement to search and learn. Show of love from minds ablaze. Thankful children give in return.
An apple for the teacher, The true fan who dare not wane. I pray for you, the teacher, May your light always remain.
