The Exorcism of Oprah Winfrey

I hear her voice call out my name and I sigh....

Better Day Tomorrow

Walking the streets and not going home after work...

Slave

I sit her, staring at my chains

Wondering what I did

Why I can’t be free

Was I ever free?

I can’t remember a time I was

I might’ve always been a slave.

A slave to my parents

The boss, my paycheck, my wife,

Then my master

I long to be free

To live as I’d like

But never, as long as I’m a slave.

That’s all I’ll ever be,

A slave to things that control

I wish for some hope.’

Is there a light at the end?

Freedom from all

I wonder.

As far as I can tell everything seems to be in the right place. It makes sense and is something people can familiarize with, but what I am getting out of your peices is a sense of persecution and pain or perhaps it is just me.

hmm..this is good. i like the rhythm and the flow of the words. is the whole slavery idea just a metaphor or is he actually enslaved by a master. other than that, i have no suggestions or criticisms.

I liked it, but I didn't feel the true feel of being tied to something, either literally as a phyical slave, or figuratively as in someone enslaved by their job. I didn't get a sense of the slave wondering where it all went wrong. Kin of the way I feel after a bad day at work. But I thought it did flow well.
