What Once Was 

There shouldn’t be any tears left.

They all fell long ago.

Everything was falling around me,But I had you.

 You were my rock, by best friend.

And sometimes even my savior.

You were always there for me.

It wasn’t a promise, just an unspoken agreement,

That’s now broken. 

I hate myself, what I’ve become.

I should be stronger, for you.

But I can’t help but wallow.

Wallow in what once was,But is no more.

 I shouldn’t have gotten attached.

Not have opened myself up to you.

Passed deeds can’t be undone,

And life has no rewind.

Life is stuck as is.

I’m sorry.
