“I couldn’t decide between the pink or the red.” Elanora said. “Which one do you like best?”

Krystal pondered a bit before pointing at the red dress. Elanora gave a nod in acceptance and disappeared into her room. After a while she came back out. The dress hugged her figure nicely. It was tight at the tip and gradually flowed down to the ground.

“Can you zip me up please?” Elanora asks twirling. “I couldn’t get it all the way up.”

Krystal slowly pulls the zipper up wanting to take in the view. It’s been a year since the two bumped into each other. They have grown so fond of each other that the two live together. Krystal sold her apartment and her belongings. The two share the rent and grocery bills. Nothing could possibly make it better.

“Did you want to come tonight?” Elanora whimpers. “I would like you to come.”

“Yea but what would people think.” Krystal retaliates. “Aren’t you afraid that they might reject you…after all this is an important night for you.”

“If I could stand six years without a raise I could stand another six. In fact I could stand another fifty. Anyway I don’t care what people would think, I just want you to come. Please.”

Krystal rolled her eyes in reply. She didn’t want to put Elanora’s chance into jeopardy.

“Great! Plus I got you a present for tonight and I didn’t want it to go to waste.” Elanora disappeared into her room and came back with a box. “It’s for this exact occasion.”

Krystal took the box and stared at it. The ribbon perfectly tied. What could it be? She slowly pulls at one of the ribbon tails. It lets loose in one easy flow. She carefully opened the lid and much to her surprise it was a dress.

“You remember when we first met. I noticed that you were staring at that dress. And I thought that it might make a perfect present for this event.” Elanora smiles. “After all it is a special occasion.”

“Its perfect Ela. I love it. Thank you so much.” Krystal sobbed. “Now lets go and get a raise.”
