All We Are
And I've got what sounds like a piano bellowing in my head Most of the colors throughout this reality have turned to red
And in the end do we ever know what we've become Do we realize we are the reason for the absence of the sun
Everyday it gets harder to breathe Putting on the respirator has now become a daily routine
And Virgin Mary's statue has begun to cry She weeps bloody tears for all we have let die
Military police are beating down our neighbors People test their faith praying to Lord Jesus Christ, our savior
But praying is nothing but a waste of time Down here we are no more important than the filthy flies
Just today the chemical infested water killed my love She laid choking on her own vomit, looking to the sky above
Maybe this is all we were ever worth Just test subjects that were put here on this earth
Politically correct no longer exists Governments have become unstable, thrown into the abyss
But we can try to overcome what lies undone We must resist and fight for the cause of our beloved sons
Step over the dead bodies that lay mangled at your feet Shield your eyes from the constant falling debris
Through all of the decay our treasured memories get erased Through all of our pain our hearts end up misplaced
Tell me, when you look at that Statue of Liberty's face Do you see a generation ever making it out of this place Copyright 2008 Sorrow Is My Mask |
