Letting Us Die Just yesterday I remembered myself begging for death But now today I am pleading for just one more precious breath They emerged from the sky With huge wings and fangs, they flew by Enormous creatures spawned from hell It was the devil's wrath as far as anyone could tell There was a young girl out in the street They picked her up and slaughtered her like meat Her body parts descended back down like rain Her blood poured. like water out of a drain But this was just the beginning of the end And there is nothing I can do, I can't help mend All of the injured that lay dying on the street I'm not sure whether this is reality or my own horrid dream One thing's for sure it doesn't seem right All of the soldiers have their gas masks fit snug, tight They just stand there watching us die Their bayonets glaring like a candle, so bright Copyright 2008 Sorrow Is My Mask |
