“Lauren!” Sebastian called after me “LAUREN please wait, I need to talk to you” I could hear him getting closer and closer to me, I sped up. “Sebastian I’m serious LEAVE ME ALONE!” I knew my words had no impact on his movement. Instead he was beginning to shorten the distance between us. “PLEASE!” he called. I stopped, and he almost ran right into me. I could hear him panting. “What do you want Sebastian” I asked coolly as I turned. He looked awful his hair was whipping his face sending it in all directions and he had evidently run more then he was accustomed to because his face was now covered in a thin layer of perspiration. “Well you see I was walking threw the cemetery the other day and well. Well I saw you there and-” he was panting. “What have I told you about fallowing me?” I scowled He seemed to cower at me words, but still I couldn’t believe he was still following my around. “I’m sorry, please. Please don’t hurt me” he squealed. Buy now at least 5 or 6 people had stopped in the sidewalk to listen to us argue. “You know what Sebastian you need to leave me the hell alone, I swear to god. If I see you again I’ll kill you.” I spat “I mean it.” He just sat there staring at me, a large grin spread across his face. “You wouldn’t do that to me.” “Just watch me” I tried to be as terrifying as possible but was very disappointed when he began to laugh. “Lauren you can’t just expect me to leave you like this.” His face dulled “Yes I can. Now GO AWAY!” I screamed at him. I turned to walk away but his hand caught my wrist. “Let me go you maniac!” At my words three or four men came around the corner, Police. “Well know you’re in trouble.” I said nodding in there direction He followed my line of sight and his face fell and his grip on my arm loosened “Fine, I’ll go, but this won’t be the last time you see me.” And he was gone. The light of the setting sun blinded me as I looked up to search for him. How had he disappeared so quickly? Suddenly, glancing down at the watch my mother had given me on my sixteenth birthday, I realized I was going to be late. I looked around making sure I had lost Sebastian and toke off for my apartment. I had a meeting with my physiatrist, and I was late. When I walked into the office a sudden feeling of calm filled me. As I caught my breath, Dr K. Cicero motioned for me to have a seat. I had been in this room many times before but for some reason it looked different. I sat on the small black leather sofa and examined the room. The far wall was window from ceiling to floor with the curtain pulled open, looking out onto the streets below. The left and right walls were book cases filled with books I wondered if he had even read. And the wall behind me leading back out to the hall was scartered with certificates. Then finally something caught my eye. On top of his huge mahogany desk was a new picture set in a sparkling silver picture frame I had long since memorized the room and I knew for certain the picture was never there before. “Who is that?” I asked pointing at the picture now noticing the beautiful woman that was crouching next to a small miniature poodle. “That’s Helena my new girlfriend, isn’t she beautiful.” He said his face lighting up. “Yes, yes she is.” I sighed I spent the rest of our session examining the picture. The woman stood with confidence. Her auburn hair framed her perfect face and her smile reminded me of, my mother. Back at my apartment I got out a box of Kraft dinner and a pot. While I waited for the water to boil, I went to my bedroom to change barely realizing what I put on. I went back to the kitchen to put the noodles in the pot and went to untangle my hair. When I walked into my tiny pink flora washroom I grabbed a brush from under the sink right beside the toilet and started to work on the impossible tangles. When I finished I returned to the kitchen I strained the noodles and put the cheese in and sat down to eat at the table and just as I was sitting down a chill when down my back. It felt like someone was watching me but there all the curtains were pulled shut. I scanned the room taking in the magazines and the dirty dishes that had accumulated due to my lazy attitude. That’s when I realized the door was open.
