another quick story i wrote, dont be too mean
It was a beautiful spring day. The sky was blue, and the sun was
pounding its rays down upon every bystander in sight. Outside you could
see men washing their classic muscle cars, stay at home moms walking
their dogs, and maybe a game or two of football before the jocks left
for school. Striating down the walk was a fellow student. Name, Paul,
and he was a lean kid, the quiet type you always seen reading in the
hallways at school. Which of course, was where he was walking. He
pushed up his glasses and continued to walk. He was almost to school,
and he didnt want to miss it.
Today was the day he was going to ask
Sarah out. He was sure it would go fine. He even got her some flowers
to sweeten the deal. He was now by the school's doors. He took a deep
breath and opened them. He could see a swarm of girls clogging the
hallway like an unhealthy artery. He pushed his way through, and went
to his locker. After he entered his combination, he took off his
jacket, where he was concealing the flowers. He almost thought about
keeping it, he didnt want the others to see, but he put it away anyway.
He shut the locker door, and began to look for her.
And after pushing his way through another mob (The snobs), he finally
found her. She was where she always was, by her locker surrounded by
her friends, but that wasnt what Paul noticed. What he noticed was her
long, black hair, and he seemingly endless hazel eyes. He was ready to
make his move, friends or no friends. With one final exhale, he was
off. As he walked towards her, her friends looked at Paul, ready to rip
him apart with their glares.
She was only a foot from him. Paul, reacting the only way he could,
held out the flowers to her and say, oh so quick, "Will you go out with
me?" All she did was stare at him, then at his flowers (he noticed that
some of them had been torn from pushing through the crowd.) He was
nervous now, but he was still sure- "No." That was all she said. With
one fast motion of the lips and tongue, she had torn one singe heart.
Her lips were still moving, but he wasnt paying attention to what was
coming out, because all he could do was try to fight off the pain that
was lurking deep in his soul. "Ok?"she said. He dropped the flowers,
they fell apart, kind of like he was now, and he walked away. He didnt
say a word, he didnt shed a tear, he only looked straight ahead of him.
No, he thought, no. I know why, he thought. He didnt go to class that
day. He walked right out those doors and straight back home. He had
some thinking to do.
The bell rang. End of the school day. Sarah was walking down the
hallway to her locker. While she was getting her things, her friend
Jewel walked up to her and said, "What was up with that?" Sarah was
confused at first, "With what?" "That one kid, the flower guy?" Now she
understood, "Oh, well, he was just some guy that wanted to ask me out."
"Duh," Jewel said, "But why the flowers?" "I dont know, listen, "Sarah
said, " I got to head out for soccer practice, see you later." She
waved by to her, and left.
What a day. After some hard drills, she was ready to go home. It was
now 7 PM. She walked out to her car, and unlocked it. She sat down in
the car seat and put the key in the ignition. Then, she heard some sort
of hissing noise. She opened her car, which was getting...lower? "What
the hell?" She said. Then she noticed that her back tire was flat. I
couldnt hear that a few minutes ago, she thought to herself.
She returned to the drivers seat and reached to turn the ignition on.
Her hand swept only air, the key was gone. She didnt think much of it
though. She had a loose ignition, it probably just fell on the floor.
She bent to check. Feeling the entire floor, she discovered that there
was nothing but loose wrappers down there. She got back up. Now all she
could do was stand there and try to call someone. She picked out her
phone and dialed her dad's number. As it rang, she looked at her shadow
on the ground (The lamp post projected one) and seen that her shoulder
seemed a little bigger, and as she reached for her shoulder, she felt
what it was that was there. It was a hand.
She screamed and quickly turned around. She was ready to defend
herself, but then she saw that it was only Jewel. "God," said Sarah,
"You scared the hell out of me, you know that?" She didnt get a reply.
"Jewel?" she asked, "are you ok?" Then, she noticed something. Out the
corner of Jewel's left eye, was a small, but long trickle of
something......red. Sarah was scared now, "Jewel?" She touched Jewel's
face, and she dropped to the ground. Behind her was someone dressed in
all black, so black you couldnt see the face. Sarah tried to scream,
but the guy already punched her in the face. She went out like a fuse.
