Don't Hide Me by Veronika Veremiov

An Implicit Aftermath

Separating from
Life and all of its
Pointless rituals
I close my eyes

Seeking your touch
In need of warmth
I search your heart

Hoping to feel you
Reaching to feel me too

Only to find you
Waiting as a dream
Looking back at me

Like diminishing flames
Our eyes gasp for air
Searching each other's
For anything remaining
That has yet to be drained
By harsh indifference

Perhaps a mutual afterthought
Or lingering admiration

And seeing myself
As a shameful
Aftermath
Alone

Hidden from view
Only from you

For Love remains a constant
In its failure to be forgotten
Or to yield to disillusion

As tears that flow effortlessly
Continue to fall around me
Still go on unnoticed

My lips begin to quiver
When loneliness realizes that
The aching desire from my deep
No longer hungers to taste
Your exquisite kiss

But to hear your
Musing thoughts
And echoed dreams

Tears flow freer still
Upon my understanding
Why you will no longer

Talk with me
But at me

And my darkness suddenly
Grows uncomfortably silent

As my heart whispers
The unthinkable

'I wish you didn't Love me'

This is beautifully written; a poem of depth and thoughtfulness.

"Love remains a constant

In its failure to be forgotten..."

nothing can be undone - though most can be unthought.

I read and I marvel that the thoughts that seem to linger at your surface, are deeper than my deepest thoughts. I gave up trying to figure out how you do it.

you just do.
