Before Eve perhaps…

Perhaps

God had only thought of Adam

Yet Adam could not

Could not stop thinking of Eve

And God gave him exactly that

A precious gift – woman

Before Eve

Adam yearned

Ached and sighed to God

Please God make me a woman

Like a child begging a parent

For a little sister or brother

Eve was born even more important

Multiplier of the human race

Before Eve perhaps…

Perhaps

The animals mused

We are made male and female

Why not man

Before Eve it was just Adam

Lone Adam

Tied in wildness of the wilds

And the best thought he could perceive

Was Woman
