Dear Reaper By Matt S Hagemann
Reaper, I am done, give mercy at last. My life is near the end of its string.
My love has won the race to death and Waits for me at the golden shore of heaven.
Dear Reaper send your mercy and Give a reunion, one of ancient lore.
My desire has faded along with the color of my eyes And life is a burden that I do not wish to bear.
All the world I have traveled, from Rome to Bangkok. All tastes I have savored, all songs I have heard.
All things I have touched, All roads traveled not one forgot. Now the time has come dear Reaper, for you to fill your promise.
This stale world of bland faces bore me and I long to see my victorious wife on that far shore.
Dear Reaper, take away the pain of another day, Let my heart give tire and my brain let go.
Through shadow I have walked, let me carry the lantern To that shore of no shadow or night eternal.
Dear Reaper, give me life eternal with your golden scythe. Let my soul reach the angels while it is still pure.
If God tells you no, plead him my case. Tell him I am finished and my curse of life I wish no more.
Thank you for your time dear Reaper, Please hear my plea and end the endless pain of this life.
