A Daydream Away

A single word when at glance
Seems just a step before the dance
But in my mind this cornerstone
Is hardly spinning all alone

It laughs with colors charmed to think
Then rhymes to join love's missing link
While music notes of amethyst
Play petty beats I'd wished but missed

As worlds begin to rock within
And paint across what's wearing thin
I'm planting groves of purple trees
Where birds are mocking honey bees

Then oceans swirl chromatic waves
And Emerald sands from treasured graves
Spring forth from chests of cluttered dust
Creating bubbles glad to bust

I hum so clouds of cobalt blue
Can sing in tune with astral dew
Then change my clock to 'running late'
So yesterday's tomorrow's fate

And beg my sleepy moon to play
With racing shadows through the day
Then question why my timid rain
Asked: "Should I cry or just complain?"

Then see a jealous sun arise
As ugliness before my eyes
But prove that envy's not so hot
Once Arctic winds have shifted thought

Then oceans swirl chromatic waves

And Emerald sands from treasured graves

Spring forth from chests of cluttered dust

Creating bubbles glad to bust
