Long ago there was a young boy by the name of Joseph K. Dwellings who held one of the most precious possessions in the whole area of Boston. Far away all the men and women dreamed of one day having it for their own, but three titanic men were chosen to guard the small young boy and the wanted book. In this book holds a true story called Gold Miners Secret”. Everyday the small boy and the three body guards would go to lunch at exactly 12 o’ clock in their reserved round table. Some people who sit in the round tables next to them claim to have seen the scripted writing in the book, but were jerked away by one of the body guards. Unfortunately the boy had but one friend called Smith Smither (his parents couldn’t afford a better name). They would schedule play dates in a safe room with one locked door and a small window guarded by the body guards. At all times the boy must keep the book in his right arm and for no reason what so ever should he show the pages to another living soul.
“This place really gives me the creeps,” Tom complained as he pulled his jacket out of the backpack.” Are you sure we want to cover this story?” Don’t tell me the award- winning photographer is afraid of a rustic old ghost town. I thought you wanted to be in on all of the action.”” I did. I do, but don’t you think we could gather our information easier in the daylight? A nice warm hotel sounds really good right about now.”” It’ll have to wait”, Kelly replied matter-of-fact as she parked the jeep near the abandoned saloon.” Besides, if we get lucky, we might have this story wrapped up by midnight. According to the legend the lost miner shows up every year on this date. Old timers believe that he has come to check on his mine. Which is hidden somewhere near this town.” ” Are you sure this is the right place,” Tom asked,” and the right town? We may be in the wrong place at the wrong time.”” Impossible,” Kelly snapped. ”This is the date. Its now or never.” She turned off her flashlight and pointed to a strange glowing light at the edge of the town.” I think our guest of honor just made his appearance.” She whispered. ”Lets follow him.” Kelly got up with little scratches, but other than that she was okay. She waited for Tom to come find her and ten minutes passed. Then she got worried about Tom. She headed back from where she came from. Tom then saw a little black dot fall in a grave hole. He ran towards the dot, not knowing what the dot was that fell. He then saw Kelly. She was inside the same grave hole that he saw the little black dot fall in. He was surprised to see her and Kelly was. She got surprised also with the help of Tom and they went back the direction that Kelly came from. They were at the south side of the graveyard and still no clues were to be seen. “Tom where are you?” ”I’m over here by this tree.” “Wait there I’m coming over there. There’s a glow coming from the graveyard. “They slowly walked alerted toward the oddly glowing graveyard. They approached the glowing man and stopped, waiting for an action to be taken, but there was no response. They asked the glowing ghost,” Do you know anything about a book of all secrets?” The ghost just stared at both of them with his lifeless eyes. He slowly turned around and started heading the same direction as they were heading, so they joined him just a few steps behind him. There was a fog starting to get thicker every five steps closer ahead. From a distance they could still see the glow of the ghost leading them around the many grave holes. It seemed like an hour since they both saw anything but fog, but at that time we noticed there was a strange sound like a bump continuing on and on. Thousands of glowing lights were appearing from the fog. Then multiple crashing sounds scared them both. The fog disappeared and there were numerous ghosts heading the same direction Tom, Kelly, and the previous miner ghost were heading. ”Kelly, hand me the camera in by backpack I need to take a picture of this.” “Quick before something else happens!” “In the distance they saw a hangman’s gallow and right next to the gallow was a stone with the name Joseph K. Dwellings written on it. Underneath the name was the words”go further and suffer…………………” Before they could read the rest of the sentence, they got hit with a shovel and were placed in to separate bags. They woke up in a cave filled with books. Tom then spoke of the legend that his father told him that had to do with where they were at. “A secret cave hidden at the bottom of the ocean that has never been found or recorded by men. One that holds the history of many past families.” From that information, Tom was curious about his family’s past. He looked up his last name of Brown and only found Danielle, James, and Tanya Brown. He was confused and mad that he wasn’t in any of the books. Kelly was looking at the other books and found the Dwellings family book. There was Joseph K. Dwellings, Michael Dwellings, Kyle Dwellings, and Tom Dwellings. After that there was something in parenthesis saying Tom’s last name was changed to Brown. When they heard that information they were excited to know that Tom was related to Joseph K. Dwellings. Kelly placed the book in Tom’s backpack and looked for a way out. They noticed one of the cave walls was moist. Tom started picking at it and throwing it off to the side. Behind the moist wall were two tunnels. One was damp and the other was dusty with big dust clouds. Tom decided to go through the dusty tunnel while Kelly went into the wet and damp tunnel. Kelly started to walk cautiously into the creepy wet tunnel. She was towards the end of the tunnel and she noticed there was gold all around her. Gold went on for a mile in each direction. Then there was a golden table and on top of it was a small leather book. She couldn’t believe her eyes. She had made a huge discovery. She took chunks of gold and the leather book and ran as fast as she could to catch up to where Tom was. While Kelly was in the wet tunnel, Tom made it to the end of his tunnel. There he saw the same hangman’s gallows and right beside it was Joseph K. Dwellings. He turned around to see thousands of miners that were ghosts. Tom was petrified at the sight. One of the ghosts started speaking “You are the son of Kyle Dwellings father of Michael Dwellings. Then the ghost pulled a lever and four coffins swung out. They were all related to Tom except for the last coffin which was empty. Kelly arrived with the gold and the leather book before anything else happened. The ghosts were displeased and took Tom. The head ghost gave the orders and……the last coffin was filled. Kelly screamed and her face was indescribable. She then ran for her life, trying to find a way out. Kelly climbed up a ladder which led her to the top of the Earths surface on an island not too far from the graveyard. Still appalled at the sight that one of her best friends was murdered, she swam like never before. Tom and the mystery of the Gold Miner’s Secret book were never spoken of again.
