A bright red Lamborghini backed up into the gravel driveway of the infamous D'Andrea estate. The driver, a blond teenager swung open the door to the car, stepped out, and closed it shut behind him in one sweeping, graceful movement. His book bag was balanced on one shoulder and he was holding two rather large textbooks in one arm and another one in the other. Somehow, he managed to climb up the steps and press a button on a white box by the door. Almost at once a voice answered, emitting from the box. "Who is it?" the voice asked. "Hello, Marie. It's me, Zak. Could you please let me in?" The boy answered still trying to balance the textbooks in his arms. "Oh yes, hold on a second, dear." Marie sighed with a trace of relief in her voice. There was a faint click, signaling that the door was unlocked. Zak pushed it open without dropping his heavy books. He entered into a long hallway and before he could even shut the door, a middle-aged woman rushed to his side. She had copper colored hair that was pulled back into a tight bun at the nape of her neck. "Zak! Here, let me help you with your books." She cried staring in amazement at the large pile of books that Zak could handle. She took them out of his hands and put it on a nearby table. "Thanks, Marie." He said with a slight smile on his face. "Uh, do you know where my mother is?" Marie responded "She's out swimming in the pool." "Oh, okay. Thanks, Marie", after that Zak left the room, delighted on his great victory game. He was proud to admit he was the star quarterback of his high school football team and dating the prettiest girl in school, Kaylie, who also happened to be the head cheerleader for his team. With Kaylie's dirty blonde and naturally curly hair, perfect body, and hazel eyes, every sane guy was jealous of him. And on top of all that, his grades are always at the top of the class. Everything in his life was basically perfect. Zak headed upstairs to his room, dragging along with him, his bag and books. As soon as he got into his room, he jumped into his bed thinking about the day. It had to be one of the best. He made the winning pass to Dylan, his best friend, who narrowly escaped Northridge's stunning defense to score a touchdown and win, guaranteeing them a spot in the state competition. There was a knock at the door. "Can I come in?" said a voice. "Uh yeah, mom." Zak answered, rolling his eyes at his mother's politeness. She stepped in and walked over to his bed. "I heard your football game was today?" she asked sitting down next to him. "Yep. And we won, too." "That's great! Did you finish your homework?" "Ehh. Not yet." He hesitantly glanced over to the pile of books he brought home. "Well, you should do it now, okay? Dinner is in about an hour and a half. Sushi and pizza sound good?" "The best! Can't get any better than sushi and pizza." He smiled sitting up. She leaned over and kissed him on his forehead, ignoring his grimace. Zak wiped his forehead with the back of his hand, with a grossed out look on his face. She laughed and walked out of his room closing the door behind her. He walked over to his desk and sat down, turning on his iMac and opening his Trigonometry book. When his computer was turned on and loaded, he quickly logged on to AIM and started on his math homework. 6 math problems later, he heard a guitar riff, meaning that Dylan had sent him an IM. Coolademiniman (6:34:06 PM): heya, zak Coolademiniman (6:34:09 PM): what's up? Zak smiled and typed a response to his best friend, knowing that he didn't like to wait for an answer. Zakmancho (6:34:12 PM): stupid math homework, duh Coolademiniman (6:34:17 PM): haha, I finished in class. anyways, to the point Coolademiniman (6:34:21 PM): you and kaylie wanna triple date with me, hannah, alex and Layla? Zakmancho (6:35:01 PM): uhh, Alex and Layla aren't dating... Coolademiniman (6:35:21 PM): I know, we'll hook em up. Alex asked me to today after the game Zakmancho (6:35:31 PM): well Layla kinda confessed her love to me the other day after practice... Coolademiniman (6:35:56 PM): oh jeez. Do you think Alex knows...? And he's kinda really into her... Zakmancho (6:36:04 PM): I doubt it. I don't wanna tell him either. And break his heart... Suddenly, his mother's voice blasted from the intercom by the door. "Zak, food's here! Come down and eat!" Zak stood up from his chair and walked over to the intercom and pressed the ‘speak' button. "I'm coming, mom. Hold on a sec." He walked back to his computer and started typing. Zakmancho (6:36:47 PM): Dylan, I have to go eat. I'll ttyl. Bye Zakmancho (6:36: 58 PM): oh and we'll go on that triple date this Saturday Coolademiniman (6:37:07 PM): okay then I'll call her and Alex, bye Zakmancho went away at 6:37:16 PM Zak turned off the monitor to his iMac and ran downstairs nearly tripping over his own feet. By the time he got to the kitchen, his mom was already waiting for him. He pulled out a chair and sat down. "Dylan, Alex, and their girlfriends are gonna go on a triple date with me and Kaylie this Saturday." He said while stuffing sushi in his mouth. "Oh okay, that's fine. Be sure to get home around midnight or so." She commented while biting into a piece of pizza. After dinner, Zak went back up to his room and picked up his phone to call Kaylie. She picked up on the second ring. "Hey there, Zak." Kaylie greeted him, with a happy undertone in her voice. "Hello, baby. Listen, do you wanna go on a triple date with me, Alex, Layla, Dylan, and Hannah?" he asked, sitting down on his bed. "Oh, sure. That's sounds like fun." She replied. "Alex and Layla, huh?" "Haha, yeah. They like each other and Alex told Dylan to hook them up." Zak laughed. "It's love, Zak. Shut up." she teased with a giggle. There was a long silence before Zak broke it. "Well, I have some math to do. So I need to go do it before my mom goes all bitchy on me." He said. "Hahaha, you still have math to do? I finished it in class." She told him, clearly rubbing it in his face. "Shut up! You and Dylan, making me feel bad and stupid." Zak joked. "Bye." "Bye, Zak. Love you." "Love you too." Zak stood up from his bed and placed his phone on to his bedside table and walked over to his white desk and sat down, continuing his math homework. Zak woke up to his phone continuously ringing. He sighed and picked up, half-asleep. "Hello?" he rasped into the phone. "Wake up, you lazy fat ass!" Dylan yelled as loud as he could. "WHAT THE HELL!" Zak shouted, who had nearly gone deaf from Dylan's yell. "Okay, now you're up I should hang up." Dylan hung up before Zak could start swearing. Zak got out of bed cussing loudly. He looked over to the clock on his wall to see that it was 5:15 AM. "*****." He mumbled under his breath, while making his way over to the bathroom that was connected to his room. He miraculously made it to the school's parking lot without crashing into anything or anyone. Dylan was already waiting for him there, waving as Zak pulled up into a spot. He smiled to himself at the look of his best friend. Dylan was one of the most popular guys at school. He had the qualities of the perfect boy. With his blond hair that partially covered his gorgeous blue green eyes and the freckles that was sprinkles across the bridge of his nose, he was only second to Zak. Dylan was lanky, yet muscular; being on the football team really had a positive effect on him. When Zak got out of the car, Kaylie walked over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. Dylan rolled his eyes and walked ahead of the couple. "Dylan, don't be jealous." Kaylie said making fun of him as her and Zak started walking behind him. "Hey, I have a girlfriend, you know." He called over his shoulder. "Speaking of her, where is she anyways?" Zak asked, putting his arm around Kaylie. "Her volleyball coach is forcing in as many practices as she can for the big game next week." "Oh, I see. So did you tell her and Alex about our plans this Saturday? I called Kaylie last night." "I called both of them, Hannah's okay with it but Alex didn't pick up. I was gonna tell him today." Dylan replied. Suddenly he stopped dead in his tracks and turned around to face Zak and Kaylie. "Alex is right over there." He gestured towards Alex who was leaning against a wall listening to his iPod with his eyes closed. He was actually quite good looking with his mass of unruly curly hair in an afro, his slightly dark skin, and his muscles. After all he was on the football team. "Do you guys wanna come with me to tell him?" Dylan asked impatiently with a raised eyebrow. "Nah, I think I'll skip. I have to go meet up with the girls to discuss a new cheer anyways." Kaylie replied, briefly hugging her boyfriend then walking away. "I'll come with you then." Zak answered, walking up to Dylan. The two blonds strolled over to where Alex was standing. Dylan tapped him on the shoulder and immediately, Alex opened his eyes and took out his headphones. "Hello, Zak, Dylan." Alex smiled, showing his perfect teeth, while standing straight up. "Hey, Alex, you know how you asked me if we could hook you up with Layla sometime soon? Well I talked to Zak and we thought that we all could have a triple date thing with our girls." Dylan proposed. "Uh yeah sure. That sounds great. But when though?" "We could go this Saturday, maybe around 7-ish?" Zak stated, crossing his arms on his chest. Alex nodded and smiled again. "Okay then, I'll call you." He said putting his headphones back into his ears. The two boys walked towards their lockers as the bell rung, signaling that their day had just begun.
