Unwanted Praise

I listen to the people circled around me...

Building Steam with a Grain of God

Stumbling through suburbs lathered in the warm...

Dancing

Slow dancing in the kitchen

To a nameless tune she hums,

Savoring the salty sweet taste of his neck.

She lets the music take her away

To the land of dreams and hopes.

She feels the warmth of his arms

And looks deep into his dark eyes

as he smiles just for her.

How he has changed her life,

Now full of purpose and love.

She twirls around as he laughs out loud,

clear and sweet.

He loves his momma

And oh how she loves her baby boy!

Wow, this was incredibly cute. (I'm pretty early on commenting on this...) The imagery I got in the beginning reminded me of a happy couple of the 1950's in black and white, dancing to some elvis, then it faded into a colorful kitchen of a mom and her baby. It was such a sweet poem, I'm overwhelmed with joy.

Beautiful especially since I have a 4-month old baby boy. That's kind of how I feel about him...like I want to hold him in my arms forever without the passing of time....
