Winning The Frog Lottery

Her car, out of gas once again; slides to a stop in...

TO WHOM IT MIGHT CONCERN (Gambia Oct '08)

It is not all fun being invisible, not all about...

It is Red

Forlorn rays shining forth

Reaching across the sea

Like a siren to beckon all that wander free

A morning of warning so sailors take heed

It is Red

Every time my mind disregards

All the love and kindness that now seems so far

And only to remember the evil and fire

As my veins pour forth a rage so dire

Is is Red

When those fluids flow from the wound so great

That sanguine painted sword swung in such hate

And foreign blood drips from my face

I wonder if I can repent or is it too late

It is Red

Roaring sirens my life is on the line

As they cut me open and deliver a gift so kind

Only to wake up to know that someone had to die

To offer that organ when my death was neigh

It is Red

A touch a kiss what we all desire

That we trust are not spent among liars

The thing we all persist to keep alive

So we can go home feeling truly loved inside

It is Red

The greatest sun ever seen by man

As it sets so grandly across the land

Although the warmth leaves these sands

I have a feeling that such heat will again grace this hand

It is Red

Red sky at night, sailors delight. Red sky at morn, sailors take warn. I thought I was going to understand this poem after the 1st verse, but I got lost. Its a great poem, but I have a hard time understanding anything that to deep. Give me a limerick and im all over that. Great poem im sure to a more interlectual source.

ponder ponderer

Warning

of Rage

And Hate

Salvation

through Love

and Grace

It also makes for a very very very inteligent answer to..."What is your favorite color"

I'm being cryptic so I don't ruin the magic too much and since its my own ideas on it. Obviously since all poety is open to interpretation based on the experiences of one's own life there isn't a single answer.

I absolutely love this poem!

Each of the images is powerful, connected by the color and a deeper progression. It opens with the sunrise warning of foreboding weather. Then comes imagery of inner rage and hurt, a personal glimpse of the emotions inside. Then it cuts to war and hatred. One fatal step past the rage. I watch a brutal, bloody death, caused by my own hands. Is the regret too late? Can I still find forgiveness? It transitions through an ambulance delivering salvation. My life is saved through the sacrificial gift of another. Now it turns to that deep desire for true love and the peace which if offers. It closes with a sunset, which ties back to the opening image, yet now it offers hope and promise. The poem hints at the greatest Son. It reminds us that the Lord is always there, even when we can’t see Him, with the grace we all need. It is kept personal with faith that He will “again grace this hand.” God is here for me personally, to touch and bless me. It shows our need and fulfills it thru love.

I very much enjoyed this poem, the imagery and descriptions where very good. I think I interpreted this different than it was meant, as a poem that is indirectly about blood? Good work
