Share it:      "So," Danny said. "What are we going to do next?" "Well," Zack started, "we'll look for survivors." "What?!?!" Danny cried. "We can't! What if they're infected?" "Then we'll check them for bites. If they have a bite, we say "Get the hell out," but if they don't, they'll come along with us." "I don't like this." Danny said. "C'mon, Danny," Zack said. "Haven't you ever dreamed of saving lives?" "Yeah, I have. I have a dream of saving my own damn life!" "Good one. Not funny, but you made an effort." "I'm not ******* around! I've read survival books, and I know everything about survival!" "You probably read how to survive in the forest or jungle. We're in a town, not a jungle. And I don't think there's a book called 'How To Save Your Ass From Zombies.'" Danny groaned. "Fine, I'll help look for survivors. Hey, what about her?" Zack looked and saw a girl, his age definetely, in the middle of the road by an old Chevy. Her face was covered with smoke from the engine. Zack rolled down the window and called out to the girl. "Um...excuse me?" "Huh?" the girl looked up. "Oh thank God!" The girl ran away from the Chevy and to Zack's Toyota. "Can you help me? My car crapped out, and I need a ride." "To where?" Danny asked. "Anywhere, away from those zombies." "You've seen them?" Zack asked. "Yeah. And I'm afraid. It's midnight, and those things could be hidden in the dark easily." The girl was right. Zack hadn't even noticed it was dark out.He was too busy thinking on where to go. "Do you have any weapons?" Zack asked. "Not guns or sludge hammers, but I have a knife in the trunk." "Won't be needing it." Zack said."Hop in." The girl sat in the back seat. "What's your name?" Danny asked. "Mikayla," the girl replied. "Mikayla Mues." "Well Mikayla, we're trying to get as far away from this town as possible. Do you wanna come with us all the way?" Mikayla nodded. "My family's probably dead already. I don't have anywhere to go." "You do now!" Zack said. So the three of them, Zack, Danny, and newcomer Mikayla drove off into the night. Copyright 2008 Robbie |
