"Your Majesty?" the voice paused, waiting for King Edward Aurum's attention, "We have relocated them farther from the river in the Kikuy River Valley."

"The Kikay people you mean?" the King replied.

"Yes, your people," the voice replied. The King paused for a second; ‘just because I was born into that ethnicity doesn't mean I don't care for the rest of my country. I would do the same for any other group,' the King thought.

"Very good, so they are nearly at the mountain's base then?" the King answered.

"As high as possible, we still need do the final calculations on the dam's capacity, but they should be very safe there," the engineer tiredly answered.

"The crops will grow well?" the King asked, determined not to commit a foolish mistake.

"Yes, they will grow fine once the reservoir grows. The mountainous region is another hundred meters away," the engineer replied, tired of the incessant questioning. ‘He didn't ask this many questions about the last dam...He's just giving his people special treatment,' the engineer thought.

"Very good...Who's next?" the King asked. Before anyone could step forward, someone burst through the crowd, comprised of the King's staff, and whispered to the King:

"I have a man who has found red gold," the man, one of the King's advisors, urgently whispered to the King.

"In my kingdom?!" the King said in both a delighted and terrified voice, "Send him to the throne room...I'll meet you there.

"I am very sorry," the King announced to the crowd, "but an urgent issue has arisen and requires immediate attention. I will be back shortly."

The King proceeded to the throne room, where he found his advisor, Markus, and another man clasping a large nugget in his left hand. The King turned and locked the door.

"Does he know what it is?" King Aurum asked his advisor Markus.

"He does now..."replied Markus trailing off.

"Sir," said the King now turning to the man clasping the fist sized nugget of red gold, "may I asked where you found that?"

"In the mountains," the man replied.

"Which ones were they?" the King asked.

"The ones by the new dam," the man answered.

"In Kikuy Valley!" the King exclaimed.

"Yep, tha's the spot," King Aurum's eyes grew wide at this answer. He knew exactly what would be said next: Favoritism. But the King knew that the initial cries of favoritism would only be the beginning.
