Moon Girls
It has been said that every hundred years, on a dark Friday night if you look real close at the moon it smiles. I wanted to see the moon smile. My name is Faith. My great grandma Mc Carty saw this sight, when she was my age. Now, no matter what I am going to see the moon smile. I told my friend’s about the smiling moon, they looked at me with a smirk as if I was crazy as a loon. That meant I was on my own. Every Friday night from then on, I stared out my bedroom window looking for the smiling moon. Before I knew it, the year was gone. I never have to see the moon smile. At school, people teased me. Sometimes they locked me in an ugly classroom with twenty green snakes. In my classroom, I could hear them laugh at me even the teachers laughed. At lunch, they put old dried brown grass in my food and other things I would rather not mention. When I am walking in between classes, they push me into teachers hard so I get in trouble. The final insult was when the kids at school nicked named me MOON GIRL.I felt like rolling up into a ball and never coming out Two weeks ago on a cold crisp dark Friday night, I was staring out my cold window as usual. I turned away for just a second and when I looked back, the moon was smiling. I grabbed my camera and took pictures. I took the pictures to school to show to every kid and every teacher who had laughed at me. I showed them I am not a crazy moon girl after all. Now I am the most popular moon girl at school.
