TO WHOM IT MIGHT CONCERN (Gambia Oct '08)

It is not all fun being invisible, not all about...

Unspoken

You, whose dark ways are in the shadows,

Whose footsteps are well known.

This night a people that welcomed thee,

Is protesting at thy throne.

These fearless leaders that we praise

Have gone and destroyed it all.

These little demons that we've raised

will pass it on to all.

I have prayed within my head

'Please Lord, don't let them die,

and propagate the lie,

that this battle is fairly just,

and that the bloodshed is a must.

'I ask of thee to give us questions

To the answers already found,

And to give us peace in this time of war,

And to free the countless bound.

Grant us the pure heart once more,

That cannot be corrupt;

That will overcome the dark,

that came upon us so abrupt.'

Let my prayer speak,

For the ones who lost their lives.

The countless mothers and fathers weeping,

Their brothers and sisters and daughters and wives.
